Envy us? I have been trying to find a used Norinco 1911 in decent shape for a long time. You guys in Canada get them brand new, and the still are one of the best gun deals around. They are not the prettiest guns, and they are made in China, but they are of high quality, forged steel, stronger than Colts. Rumor has it that they are made of railroad rails. They are listed by many highly regarded gunsmiths as one of the guns they will customize. All this and they can still be had for less than $300 brand new.

I was checking out a Argentinian made .45 compact. Nice single action auto. Crisp trigger. I was concerned there was aluminium or composit in the frame. About $350.
As for Norinco, sounds cool but I'd prefer a Kimber or a Star.

I don't really need a gun per say I've got other weapons that would be just as good.

We have to register ours to death, and we can only use them to shoot at approved shooting clubs, and whenever the government wants to it can just walk in and consfiscate our stuff. The same process goes for all our Long Guns, so basically anything we legally own can just be consfiscated by the Government whenever they want to (Gun ownership in Canada is a very high priviledge, not a right)
I had no idea Norincos were such high quality pieces, the "made in China" has put me off to them.

Wow Paradigm! I had no idea it was that bad! I dont suppose you guys are allowed to carry concealed?
Wally, that Argentinian 1911 is built with Colt machinery and colt trained smiths. They are called Sistemas. It is basically a Colt... and that is an excellent price for it!

XD,
It wasn't a 1911 pattern.
Looked more like a modified SW/Sig. I like hammer/sa/auto as I'm used to them. Carry loaded - hammer down - very safe with a pin block. Learned to cock on the draw.
I have to check what model it was. Do you have a guess as to the company? I'm quite sure it was not Interarms.
