I see this board does not support a word of knowledge. What do you do with 1 Corinth 12;8 ? Do you not believe what Gods Word says?:scratchI think it is more a point of not knowing the person who is claiming to have had a 'word of knowledge'. Its too easily faked. You would need to be a member of that paticular congregation to know whether or not it was credible or merely some attention-getting gimmick.

I personally do not believe that is the reason.I think some believers believe that the gifts are not in opperation today.:scratchPerhaps. Most of the Scripture used to 'prove' current operation actually applies to Israel in the End Times. That isnt yet, IMO.

Personally, I think they can and do operate, but not often and certainly not frivolously.

The problem I have with most of what you get these days is that they almost always seem to 'puff up' those that get them. Humility is almost never in view. IMO, this is especially true with so-called 'Holy Laughter' and being 'Slain in the Spirit'. Exactly how does that sort of chaos edifiy (build up) the body?

Even Speaking in Tongues is usually misused. Its not about the whole group babbling unintelligably. Scripture tells us it is supposed to be 'orderly. Its about building up and therefore must have meaning attached (interpretation) to it.
