I left a chick tract at every stop we made along our way to Mississippi last thanksgiving. That included : gas stations, rest stops & fast food places. And again on the trip back. I still have some left, I'm going to hand them out. I wanted to give one to the Witnesses who came to my door a couple of weeks ago but the thought dawned on me after they were gone :doh

Yep...

In fact, we look for different ways to hand out tracts, draw crowds, open air preach... whatever we can... Here are two youtube videos I'm in...

http://www.customtractsource.com/CustomizedBulk-Tracts--Star-Wars-Million-Dollar-Bill_p_288.html

These are the custom tracts we created with the help of custom tracts.. They liked them so much, they now sell them on their main site as well...

They work very well for this method of witnessing.. Everyone takes one, and usually ask for extras for friends..

Dan~~~>also notes that is dad's photo in the tract to avoid legal issues..

I just wanted to see which of you hands out gospel tracts regularly and how often you do so. Also, do you typically hand them directly to the person or do you leave them in a particular location for someone to find it?

I place tracks almost every day. Sometimes I hand them to someone but mostly leave them places. I like to stick card tracts in the driver's side window (between the window and the rubber strip). I got this idea one day when I found a business card stuck in my car window. I really don't like to stick them under the wind shield wiper because the person can get irritated even before reading the tract if he doesn't see it when he gets in the car and then has to get out to retrieve it. Don't want him to be irritated before he even has a chance to read it:lol2.

Another good place on a car is the door handle if it's the kind that is like an open handle and most of them are now. The pamphlet tracks and the large million dollar tracts slightly folded will stay in the handle and the driver can't miss it when he gets in the car. Instead of going around a parking lot and leaving them in all the cars I just do two or three cars on the way into the store or when I return to my car.

Another thing to think about is not to leave a big stack of tracts in one place because someone may just pick the entire stack up and throw them away. Only leave two or three or maybe just one. Also, I don't know about you guys but most women won't pick things up that are left in a public restroom so I don't ever leave them there.

When dh and I walk or ride bikes on the paved trails around here I drop the large million dollar tract a few places and leave them in the parks.

On the weekend when the P.O. is closed except for the lobby we leave tracts on the self service stations. In other words I try to leave a few tracts somewhere every day. I keep them in my car and stock my purse whenever I go in someplace.

There are so many places to leave them. The hospital is a good place - in waiting rooms. I like a "Where Will You Spend Eternity" pamphlet track for those places. That's my most favorite track.

It's become an obsession. I like to pray over the tracts I leave each day.

I just ordered some Chick Tracts today (by mail) and I read some of the ideas on the Chick Tract website about how to use them, especially if you are shy like myself. I wrote down some of the ideas and am excited to be able to 'witness' by leaving them in various places. In the meantime, I am praying that God will make me bolder and for Him to use me in whatever capacity that might be, which is hard for me because I can barely say hi even to fellow Christians. But I want to be bold for Christ. I know time is short.

I just want to say that I did it! I went to the library today with my son to pick up some books and near some books I was perusing, I saw several copies of a book called The Sorcerer's Companion. (it was a guide book, not fictional) So I stuck a tract in one of them. The back of the tract also has my church's name and address on it. I don't know if anything will happen, but I'm praying it will reach the right person.

I find these kind of annoying myself. I even found one on a pin ball machine in a pizzaria. This pinball machine would let you win a free pizza if you hit some high number or something, and evidently someone took this to mean it was gambling, and so they put a tract on it, assuming that whomever played the machine was a hell-bound sinner.

Some dead-beat tippers actually tip their waitresses and hotel maids with tracts. Those people will tell you it is one of the most annoying forms of witnessing ever.

I found one in a bookstore, but I don't think the book was anything particularly bad - if I recall it was a success in business type of book.

I can remember on 3 occasions having someone just walk up to me at random, hand me a tract, and walk off. I have found them in my front yard, rolled up and held closed with a rubber band, like a tiny newspaper. I just throw them away. If you can't bother to get to know the person, and find out whether they even need to be witnessed to, then don't waste your time. You'll just annoy them.

And yet they have helped alot of people by planting seeds. And there are many who have come to know Christ through these. I do it that way because I find it hard to talk to people, EVEN Christians, and even in small talk. Btw, when I do leave one for my waitress, I make sure I tip them at least 20%. There's no way I would leave just a tract for a tip. That's just wrong and definitely not a good witness.
Like I said before, I am praying for boldness to talk to people, but in the meantime, people DO pick up and look through those books.
Why do you throw them away? Are you already a Christian? Why would you not just pass it along to someone else who might benefit from them?
