Is a false prophet according to the definition in the Scriptures and the criteria we are to use to judge the fruit.

If you think that us pointing out false teachers with false doctrines and false prophecies is "bashing", then I highly recommend that you reread your Old and New Testaments and really take heed to what is being said about following such people after being warned consistently.

Keep playing with fire and you will get burned.

Go look in the NT and find out the tests we are to have for seeing if someone is false and aligned with anti-messiah, or not.

Even in the OT a false prophet was someone who led the people to other gods.
Is Benny decieved? Is Les?

yes, I believe in some of their teachings-they are . Considering all of us know and prophecy in part, and every Christian I've met is deceived in some area of their thinking and living.

We are to pray for others and bless them, even our enemies. Heresy hunting is not a scriptural ministry and is not led by the Holy Spirit - it is led by carnal nature. If you think Hinn is deceived, then pray FOR him (not against him) that God reveal all truth to him, and lead him in the right path. That is what Jesus taught us to do. So, you can respond to Hinn as Jesus told you to, by blessing him and praying FOR him (not against, that is witchcraft and cursing and not what Christians are to do), or you can follow the unspiritual heresy hunter ministries.

The irony of heresy hunter ministries is that they always think they know the Word better than anyone else, they know about the Spirit better than anyone else, and they think they are the standard for everyone else. Ironically, they usually follow the instructions of the Word less than those professing Christians they slander, they usually do not manifest true spiritual power of the Holy Spirit, and they don't match up in their conduct and ministry to the scriptural way and examples of our true Standard, the Word of God in flesh, Jesus the Christ.

This is how Jesus handled people not related to his ministry but doing good works in his name:

Mark 9:38-39 MKJV And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out demons in Your name, and he does not follow us. And we forbade him, because he does not follow us. (39) But Jesus said, Do not forbid him. For there is no one who shall do a work of power in My name who can lightly speak evil of Me.

This is how heresy hunting ministries handle such:

Matthew 12:24 MKJV But when the Pharisees heard, they said, This one does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub the ruler of the demons.

Now, we each get to choose who we want to be like. The Pharisees who called powerful ministry in their midst of the devil (ironically they were the children of the devil as Jesus told them), or Jesus, who was not at all afraid of or opposed to other ministries even in his own days casting out devils or doing any good work in his name. His immature disciples had issue with it at first and told the others to stop, but Jesus rebuked them for that and told them not to hinder such people.

Heresy hunter ministries violate that commandment from Jesus. More proof they aren't following him, but their own carnal thinking about spiritual matters.

I never said that Les was a "heritic" simply that I did not agree with all his theology.

May the light shine in the darkness and the truth trump the lies.

As a disciple of Christ and a believer in the Gospel and THE WHOLE COUNSEL OF GOD, it is my duty to warn the brethren against false teachings, false prophecies, false doctrines and false religions, no matter WHO OR WHAT the prepetrators are. To not speak out against the teachings themselves and instead love love love like many in the seeker-friendly mindset want to do today would be anethema and apostasy.

The Bible says that if we are complicit in erroneous doctrine we are guilty of the same sin.

Do you want to take a chance with this? Not me. Enough said.

Again, as I said before and will continue to say.....

I stand on the Word of God, His Word is Truth, all other utterings are fallacy.

And one more thing, the term "heresy hunter" is way overused on this board and, frankly, misapplied.

The Scriptures say:

Ephesians 5:11
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.

2 Timothy 2:15
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

1 John 1:6
If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
Prophecy is a very serious thing. The Bible is very clear on the topic of false prophets bearing false messages. They are to be cut off. Yes, we are also to pray for those in darkness that they may see the light, but we are also to counsel the brethren regarding such things, and that is what I am doing.

Deuteronomy 13:1-5

Punishment of Apostates

1 “If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder, 2 and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, ‘Let us go after other gods’—which you have not known—‘and let us serve them,’ 3 you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, for the LORD your God is testing you to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. 4 You shall walk after the LORD your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice; you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him. 5 But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has spoken in order to turn you away from the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of bondage, to entice you from the way in which the LORD your God commanded you to walk. So you shall put away the evil from your midst.
Thank goodness were are under Grace. God has no tolerance for deceivers and those who come in His Name claiming signs and wonders and false teachings.

Philippians 3:18-19

18 For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things.

2 Peter 2:1-9

Destructive Doctrines

1 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does[a] not slumber.

Doom of False Teachers

4 For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; 5 and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; 6 and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly; 7 and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked 8 (for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds)— 9 then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment,

From what I can see by reading the Word for itself, we are not to pass the buck concerning erroneous teachings and doctrines and false prophecies and the like. This is very serious to God and if we do not rebuke a brother or sister as we are exhorted in scripture to do, we are complicit in the same.

1 Timothy 5:22
Do not lay hands on anyone hastily, nor share in other people’s sins; keep yourself pure.

2 John 1:9-11
9 Whoever transgresses[a] and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; 11 for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.

Grace Gospel fellowship churches-believe like Les-two different gospels. One for the Jew and one for the Gentile. They also do not believe in baptism in water. They are "ultra" disjpensationalists.

Does anyone have any knowledge about the Grace Gospel Fellowship of churches? We are going to hear Les Fel**** preach at one nearby, and I wondered what kind of church it is. Their website says they are a member of Grace Gospel Fellowship and I know nothing about them.....any info out there?

Pegmo

Pegmo, go and listen to Les and make up your own mind. I love his Bible studies. If he is called a false teacher because he is dispensational, well then so are a lot of us here on this board. Like the pot calling the kettle black.:doh

Some here are ready to throw anyone to the lions who has a different view than they do. What we need to ask ourselves is "is the person I am accusing "saved"? If they are then when I consider myself a "heresy hunter" (or whatever word you want to use for the personal bashing some do) then I become an "accuser of the bretheren", and we know where that comes from. Like I said, I don't agree with some of the teachings of that church or some of Les's and we can discuss those, or Benny Hinn's for that matter-- but I'm not a screamer of "false teacher" everytime someone says something I disagree with. Remember, the Pharasees where the ones who said ministries were working for the devil. And Jesus rebuked them. Matthew 12:24

Would you like to discuss the fact that this church doesn't believe in water baptism?

Anyway, I'll repeat what I said in my earlier post-go, just keep your Bible handy.

Since Les tells everyone to check out everything against the scripture, only listens to arguments based on scripture, and teaches with bible open, in hand, looking up passages, he doesn't have a problem with checking him out against the bible. That is one of the things I enjoy most about his teaching. Do I agree with him on every point? Not necessarily, but those are on issues like whether Ezekiel 38 happens pre-trib or during the tribulation - not issues of doctrine or salvation.

Saying someone has bad theology and not backing it up - and then when asked you say:

is disingenuous. You just cast doubt on his teaching without presenting anything to back up your accusation, and then when asked, you claim you don't get into personal bashing. I would say what you did is worse than if you simply said you disagreed with xyz for reason Scripture verses a,b,c.

Well stated and to the point.

Thanks

firstlove,

I do not know anything about Grace Churches, but Les is not a false teacher. There is no comparison to Les teaching Grace and Benny Hinn teaching, he is a god and kundalini wof. It's clear John*the Baptist preached the kingdom gospel, you had to be baptized with water, the Holy Spirit did not fill the person, at salvation during John's symbolic water baptism. Jesus came to Israel/Jew's, under the law, he preached the kingdom gospel to the Jew's, he offered the kingdom to the Jew's, he told them the kingdom was standing right in front of them.. Peter and the other apostles, accepted Paul, after they realized, he was given the grace message, by Jesus himself.

Why is Paul is always discredited, accused of being the one who had another gospel? Or they say he started another sect of Christianity, which they do not agree with? How come people are not walking on water? Being healed one hundred percent instantly for all to behold? Being raised from the dead in the site of all and easily verified? How come Christians are not dying when lying to each other? How come Christians are not going back into their past, to repay all their money debts and wrongs, they have committed which Jesus said too?

You do not have to be baptized in water to be saved, you do have to be baptized in the Holy Spirit.. The water baptism of John the Baptist, was symbolic of what was to come, the Holy Spirit. What will people do if there is no clean water around to baptize with, do they make the people fear they are not saved?

Man as god, Benny Hinn and Kenneth Copeland type teaching.

He is definitely at odds with Jesus, because Jesus said God called them ‘gods’, and the Scripture cannot be broken. Hunt is trying to break Scripture.
Someone might wonder if there is a danger in using this term. Well, there is a danger in using any term if it is not understood. I use this term to speak of two important facts about mankind: first that we are made in God’s image; we have God’s character and spiritually we have God’s genetic makeup—which is what re-gene-ration means. Second, I use this term to speak of man’s dominion over the earth. God gave dominion to man in order for him to rule. The term god is often used in connection with dominion. Even Satan is called "god of this age" (2 Cor 4:4), which means that he rules.
I am not aware of any true Christian using the term god to mean that we are the Creator as Dave Hunt implies. We are simply creatures made in God's image endowed with dominion; thus we are "gods" in that sense. Nothing else should be inferred.
Special note concerning Bill Humble. Later he writes to Tom Brown.
Thank you for your prompt response. I have studied John 10 as well as Psalms 82. In addition, I have studied I John 4:17, Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the Day of Judgment. For as He is, so are we, IN THIS LIFE.
Also Peter makes known God’s promises in II Peter 1:4 that we are partakers of the divine nature. I was slow in incorporated the terminology "gods" in relation to us as Christians because of the "pride" it may produce in a person. But as I sought the Lord in this matter, I heard him say in my spirit, "How could you take any pride in being made a god by the work of Christ. If you were a god all along, then there might be room for pride. But you were made one when you entered into union with My Son. If you were a god that was not under any authority, then there would be room for pride. But you are a god under authority, for only I am Sovereign Lord." So, there is no room for pride, as the heresy hunter’s claim.

Discrediting Paul and Israel

Paul - Servant of Aton and Biblical Archaeology and the myth of Israel

What we have are theories over the story of Jesus. And we have the high priest of the cult of Jesus, his biographer Paul (previously known as Saul for Sol or Sun) who apparently wished the world to know about and accept the preternatural force that he once encountered during a bizarre "out of body" experience.

* *
s (10BC-67AD) - Agent of the Atonists. Author Ralph Ellis believes Paul and the historian But Paul had not physically met the man whose life appears to have obsessed him. This fact did not deter Paul from his industry. Nevertheless, this fact did not prevent him carrying on his work to create a religion largely based on pagan ideas. There was only one major difference between Paul’s Christianity and the pagan corpus and that involved the sanctity of the self. Apparently, the cabal of hierarchs in Rome and Jerusalem who commissioned Paul were determined to decimate the pagan philosophy which regarded man to be his own savior. Of course, there is a great deal of doubt over the identity and even existence of this man Jesus. Can the word of Paul be accepted given that he and the man he adores never met?

Throughout the Epistles Paul states that what he is preaching is his version of the Gospel. He never mentions the Gospels which are included in the canon of the Scriptures nor does he mention anything actually said by Jesus - Alexander S. Holub (The Gospel Truth)

The religious teaching presented in Paul’s Epistles is fundamentally different from what research has recognized as being authentic sayings of Jesus…What we know as Christianity today is not the teaching contained in these authentic sayings; it is the theology disseminated by Paul and the doctorers of his Epistles -*Elmer H. Gruber (The Original Jesus)

The information about Paul as it is presented in the Acts of the Apostles is not reliable since it is not autobiographical; and if it contradicts plains statements in the letters (of Paul) it has to take second place - Martin Debelius (Professor of Theology at Heidelberg, in his book Paul)

...most of what is now accepted as orthodox Christian doctrine was developed from Paul's teaching, rather than from that of Jesus. The New Testament Gospels concentrate on the story of Jesus' life - his birth, baptism, day to day travel, miracles, death, etc, - but really tell us very little of His teachings, apart from a few short sermons, parables, conversations and arguments. Paul's letters, however, are packed full of his own personal beliefs - his ideology, his philosophy, and his theology - R. A. Anderson (Church of God, or Temple of Satan)

SIGH!!

I did not say he was a "false teacher"--I believe you, however, are preaching falsehood-"the information about Paul-IN THE WORD OF GOD" IS reliable. AND-I never said anything about one having to be baptised in water to be saved---and no, not all Christians are baptised with the Spirit. Acts 19:6, Acts 8 They are baptised by the Spirit into the body of Christ
Jesus is the One who baptises in the Spirit.....John answered and said to them all, "As for me, I baptize you with water; but One is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to untie the thong of His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire Luke 3:16.
