They have a van or car that drives around with a shielded camera on top that takes 360 degree pictures on every road and geo-tags it for map making software. It's a really neat thing when you need to find an address of a place you've never been to before. They update those pictures about once a year. You can ask them to remove the picture by clicking on the "report a concern" link on the bottom-left of the image. Put in your concern and they'll take care of it. You may have to disable pop-ups for that page for it to work.
I hope you dont mind me asking but how do you know they have a van or car that drives down every road and takes pics?

Woah! That's wild!! I live on a back road so you can't get a close-up of my house, but you could of my mom's house. It was like I was right there. Oh my....I don't think she'd like that at all! :panic

Somebody? is doing this stuff from a vehicle. A friend and myself were just looking at this evening. You can clearly see light refraction in the lens at the street level.

You get allot of info from the internet. The worst is from the public recorders office. Here in ohio different counties it had ppl social security numbers on loans or mortgages(etc) and it is Free for the public to look at..Public records.
So, they began to black out all ss numbers to the documents just about a year ago, a little to late...but I guess its a start...
Samething with the public court info too...All counties in most of united states have Free Public Websites (recorders, courts, probate etc...)

No street level in my neck of the woods. If you get to close on the overhead it is too pixely(?) and you can't really see anything

Me too but it freaked me out that you can see like you are standing in front of my brothers house from the street. And worse than that. My parents live in condos in Branson and they have street level view from inside the condo grounds, not from the city street but from inside the private property! :faint I couldn't believe that!

People in my area have seen it too. A while ago it came through and a bunch of concerned people contacted the media and the police about why this mysterious van was taking pictures of their homes. There were so many calls that the media reported what was going on.
