I believe there will have to be a conscious decision associated with the mark. For example:
1.total economic collapse.
2. new monetary system introduced, you have 2 weeks to convert your worthless dollars into amero's (or whatever they will be called) at a conversion rate of 1/4.
3. While you are at your local "federal" bank, you will have to agree to the new security feature of an implanted chip to qualify for your money to be converted. Which by the way, all money will now be entirely electronic. No more paper money.
One of the big selling points to the public will be, if someone breaks the law, they will just turn off your chip and you will not be able to buy or sell ANYTHING!
Hopefully, none of us are here at that time!

I was looking up information on the internet for my website the other day, and came across a site that uses fingerprinting to purchase items safely. You need to have a little box to use it, but I thought it was a little weird so I just passed it by. They said it was the newest technology. Now I wish I would have kept the address, I would have posted it for you.

The Rite Aid drugstores in my area already have fingerprint scanners for their staff to "
log in" on their cash registers. It can't be too much longer before they have stores with fingerprint readers for payment.
But don't think it is all that safe. It is not hard for a crook to make a copy of your print in thin latex and put it on his/her fingertip. Then all they would need is to steal your pin number to buy goods in your name from your account.
In fact, no technology is truly safe from a sufficiently motivated thief. Even the most high tech new versions of our paper money has only about a two week lifespan before good enough counterfits to pass in a store are on the street.

And this fingerprint payment technology is not the mark of the beast... its just a quicker more safer way to do transactions.
Never heard the terms "precursor", "trend", or "slippery slope"?
That's how they will bring the mark in... gradually conditioning us to accept things like this that slowly get closer and closer to the MOB

Here I go thinking again, but can you imagine after this gets implemented, how some crooks will avoid getting the MOTB or become a believer in Jesus, that they would somehow figure out how to get around this system. Just maybe some of the people in the Tribulation period might be missing a finger or two, and possibly even an eye. :thinking :idunno

Exactly WHY the general population will DEMAND the mark...it won't be a forced issue...except for a few Evangelical crackpots...

Any mark, RFID chip, or any other device or system to verify identity for commerce is just that and no more; until the Antichrist forces people to take his mark or chip or whatever and swear loyalty to him instead of G_D. Then, and only then, will it be "The Mark of The Beast".

Not wrong....just forgetting something...
THE Mark has a element of worship attached to the receiving of it...
One could make the case that we in America especially worship money, but I don't think this is what the verse is talking about...money & the love of money has been around a long time...way before the vision.
It makes me wonder what the true definition of "worship" is.
worship (wrshp)

1.
a. The reverent love and devotion accorded a deity, an idol, or a sacred object.
b. The ceremonies, prayers, or other religious forms by which this love is expressed.
2. Ardent devotion; adoration.
3. often Worship Chiefly British Used as a form of address for magistrates, mayors, and certain other dignitaries:
1. To honor and love as a deity.
2. To regard with ardent or adoring esteem or devotion. See Synonyms at revere1.
1. To participate in religious rites of worship.
2. To perform an act of worship.
worship

I guess the reason why I ask is, when I read threads re: the Mark & the worship aspect of receiving the Mark, I have to remind myself at how insidious the introduction of the Mark will be.
Some people think of "worship" as nothing more than a service they go to on Sunday morning. We saw examples of the definition in bold, above, during this past election season.
Non-christians worship their idols, don't they?
My mind's through wandering.....

We don't know how these chips are going affect the people compared to those you posted. The chips are implemented for those who CHOOSE to take the mark. If it is forcefully implented onto someone we don't know how that's going to work along side God's word? This seems to be the only valid case.

These brain/biochips, that I have presented in the above mentioned BBC articles, don't have the 666 inside of them yet so no one will be condemned yet if they use them or put them inside their body. The majority of the people in the Great Tribulation will be more then happy and honored to have the 666 mark in their hands or their foreheads. If you don't want it to be planted into your body then you will lose your job, properties, won't be allowed to make any kind of transaction and finally you will be beheaded because of your refusal.
