I tried to answer it. Somehow the answer will be his name, but since we dont know who yet, its hard to be more specific.

I think he may be referring to the Anti-Christ, which will become Lucifer (Satan) in human-form.

I've thought about this many times . . . it's a huge concept, really, one that makes my head feel like it needs to explode, but I'll take a shot . . .
I think, initially, the mark will be some type of universally-accepted identification code. Maybe just in card form at first -- would be easier to sell to the public. It would replace ALL other cards plus have additional capabilities that everyone would love. It would be seen as a wonderful idea and people would be thrilled with the new, easier system. Then the powers-that-be are compelled to change it to a body-implanted device -- the rapture would be a good reason -- keeping track of everyone who's still here.

At some point, though, the system (is the "Beast" a system or the actual bad dude?) will be in place and make it oh, so easy to use for evil . . . people up to that point have become dependent on buying and selling by use of their mark. Once the AC declares himself God, he and the False Prophet will manipulate the system for their benefit. If the "man's" name is 666 -- whatever that means -- it will somehow be included within this system. Could be lots of scenarios, really.

I found it quite compelling -- the theory of Islam being the beast and the AC being Muslim. That's how they identify themselves -- a band on the upper arm and/or forehead. During the tribulation, God will mark the 144,000 on the forehead as well -- I think it will be a visible mark, setting them apart and keeping them safe.

Im sorry i haven't replied.But i don't think i gave the full comparision.
I don't have time to go through the book by Malachi Martin called Keys to this blood.But on the side of his tiaras has these greek words vicarius filli dei,which means substitue of Christ on earth.Here's a quick reference i'll get the passage of the book or his web page.

Chris, have you read the Left Behind Series? Nicolae Carpathia's signature number (the one on his plane, his address in New Babylon, his office number, etc) was 216, not 666. Apparently there is some way to get 666 out of 216 which is why the author's picked it...but I guess what I'm trying to say is that 666 could be disguised in some way, under another number, a name, something like that. In this case, maybe 666 can be derived from Nicolae, Carpathia, or Nicolae Carpathia, or 216? I was never able to figure this one out...

In the books, I think they had like a specific code for whatever region of the world you lived in. Again, I don't think each chip will say 666, I think it'll have the AC's name (which means 666 in some way?) and a number for each person and the region they live in.

:rolleyesHi 100knight. I understand your question (at least I think I do!). Your question implies that the "mark" is going to have the actual number of "666" somewhere on it visibly, and people are going to wonder why?

I personally think that the actual #666 will not be visible on the mark, so no one will be asking why. People have talked about that for centuries... so I don't think he will be that obvious... and it could be that his name, or something about him add up to six hundred and three score... and wouldn't that just be a "coincidence"? :rolleyes Look at all the people in history who's names have also added up to that? I can hear the excuses now..... :sad

With the technological advances of the world, my thoughts on this over the years have changed with each new "wonder" that has been invented. My thinking these days lead me to imagine (like a previous post) that after the AC comes into power, he is going to impliment an ID system where people will be implanted with some sort of chip. Imagine the amount of ID theft that is going to happen... or people using the rapture as an excuse to "disappear" themselves so they don't have to pay their debt. I imagine that this chip would be scannable so that any agency will be able to bring up all your statistics with just a swipe of a handheld scanner. But I also think that there will be some type of tattoo marking that will also be required - that will correlate with the chip that is imbedded (so people can't substitute a different chip as it wouldn't match)... so that people can see at a glance someones allegiance.

Look at all the "obama-ites" out there today... they proclaim loudly with t-shirts, bumper stickers, hats, pins, etc, that they follow O. Now imagine how much more people are going to want to proclaim their love and allegiance to this new leader who is going to save them from the terrible prediciment the world is in!! They will LINE UP for a chance to prove how much they believe in this new leader. The tattoo could be his name, but unlikely... I'm thinking it's going to be a symbol.... like the crescent moon (very interesting topic that was in another thread) with a number that at a glance will identify you.

In the trucking industry, we already have identification cards with chips in them. The trucks have a card placed in the windshield with a chip in them so that when we come up to a customs booth (between the U.S. and Canada) all the information of the truck comes up on the screen before we even stop at the booth. Our new border crossing cards (FAST) also have a chip in them with all of our information... fingerprints, you name it. And the new TWIC cards, that are mandatory to have to get into any port (like the Port of Tacoma to pick up freight that has arrived on ships), also have a chip in them.

So anyways, hope that is the kind of answer you were looking for! :) These are just my own thoughts, and I re-iterate that they have changed over the years with each new wonder that has been invented. I remember when the debit card first came out... wow... did THAT ever have an impact on how people viewed "the mark". :panic
