QUOTE=WearingWhite;1381079]I read a pretty scary book in which the Mark of the Beast was a bar code tattoo on the hand that teenagers got and it was made to be a rite of passage, so naturally kids were scrambling for it, and by the end of the book it was required to so much as travel on a bus even if you paid cash! I wish I could remember the title, but it was very spooky. Police would stop people who didn't have it and falsely arrest them, so the main character used a rub-on tattoo that looked like one to pass by unnoticed.
I've seen that in movies where Trib saints pretend to have the mark so they can get around and get food, etc., but I always wonder if that wouldn't be a terrible sin for people to even pretend to have the mark and be on the devil's side. It just seems so wrong to even pretend such a thing.[/QUOTE]
Yeah, but something tells me the real thing will be so sophisticated that forgeries will be clearly found-out

No I don't think you can cut your hand off and repent.
When a person accepts the MOB they will know they are rejecting God and
They will most likely have to pledge a vow to worship the AC.
The MOB is the Point Of NO RETURN!

Exactly what I think, as well

I don't think a person would even be able to repent after accepting the MOB. At that point, they belong to Satan.

I have no plans to chip my kids but I also understand that I couldn't possibly accidentally have the mark of the beast placed upon my kids. We're talking apples and oranges here. The acceptance of the mark of the beast has to be voluntary and includes the worshiping of the beast as god. For those who accept the mark, which won't be available until the midpoint of tribulation, the possibility of salvation has been forfeited.

the MOB is going to be a threefold thing
1. something that allows you to buy or sell
2. not witness for Jesus
3. worship the beast
Revelation 20:4 (King James Version)
4And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
so one will have to deny Christ and worship the beast and take the mark... God isnt going to allow his elect to be deceived in this fashion, so one will have to know full well what they are doing. deny Christ, accept beast, take the mark...as plain as that scripture is very clear on this:hat

My concern besides the media pushing somethinglike this so the people become accepting of such an implant in the future is the privacy issue. Even if someone had the implant put in their child, aren't they essentially taking away the childs right to privacy in the future when they are grown, really, how many of those kids are going to think of getting it removed? This would then become a problem of privacy for the adult child who no longer needs to be under their parents watchful eyes.

I have a question about the chip technology. Why do some see this as a mark of the Beast?
Don't get me wrong........the chip technology to me is kinda freaky. Makes me uneasy to say the least.
But I thought the mark of the beast was making an pledge or oath to Satan. If you just take the chip for medical reasons or whatever but don't pledge your allegiance to the anti-christ, then how can that damning to your soul.
I see the mark of the beast as being some kind tattoo....or other marking.
I could be wrong of course.
Just curious what others think.

The chip could be used to implement the mark of the beast but we don't know for sure just what the mark will be. The important thing to remember is that the mark of the beast is more about being forced to take an oath to the beast than it is about how the mark is made. Just getting a tatoo or chip implant without the oath to the beast may be repugnant to many but without the oath to the beast it is not the mark of the beast. With the oath just about anything could be the mark of the beast.

You could have a hundred different chips inserted into you for various reasons and a jillion tattoos. The "Mark of the Beast won't be available until mid-point for the period we call Tribulation. In order to receive it, recipients will also be required to worship the beast as god. There will be no mistaking the Mark of the Beast for something else.
