I've sometimes wondered why the Lord wouldn't want them to have the capacity to recognize their error and repent. After reading some of the responses here, it occurred to me that maybe God is trying to prevent people from just "playing along" to appease the AC for as long as they can and then repenting before the end of the 7th year.

I agree - it will be their very last (out of innumerable) chances to "make a stand" for Christ. God is willing to forgive, but once you willingly agree to worship the beast, that's it for you.

There is a book called "God's Wrath on Left Behind" by Lisa Ruby. I ordered it from cutting edge org website. She had issue with the guy taking the mark, but still working with the Trib saints and noted that no one can take the mark and be saved. She also had issue with the fact that someone had had an abortion in one of the books - I think it's in one of the 3rd or 4th ones I've never read. She made a lot of sense in some cases, but it was almost like she was looking for reasons why LaHaye and his co-author should be damned - very legalistic. I just like to read differing opinions sometimes

And she does this with Tolkien, Lewis, Christian message boards, those that read a different version than KJV...
We don't allow Lisa Ruby's teachings here because her views are way off base.

I think the rules of "free choice" still apply even after we are raptured. The AC can't force someone to be damned to hell for eternity. He knows very well once someone takes the mark they will go to Hell, so he can't go against Gods set rules of what he can and can not do. I belive there will be those who will ask the AC to just force people to take the mark against their will, but he will not allow it, because God will not let him.

That's what I'm counting on. Because if having the mark forced on you against your will could cause you to be lost eternally, the Devil would have a field day in robbing every Tribulation saint of his salvation by doing just that to him. I have to believe that God will either fix it so that no one can have it forced on him as it was forced on Chang, or else if it does happen--Heaven forbid!--God will take into account the believer's heart and the circumstances under which he received the mark, and have mercy on that believer.

Now, those who accept the mark deliberately, either because they're afraid to die or because they believe in the Antichrist's evil cause, can expect no mercy.

I am not sure but wasnt it David in the bible who used hot coals to purify his lips. If anyone says this is not mutilation like cutting off your hand or plucking out your eye I welcome you next time you bbq to go ahead and pick up a hot coal and give it a kiss.

No, that was Isaiah. An angel held a hot coal to his lips because he had just confessed that both his and his people's lips were unclean.

I was thinking this morning...What if the mark of the beast turns out to be a christian symbol. It will mean nothing to the antichrist, but will explain how even christians take the mark. If the pope says people should all have a symbol of mary on their hands to stop them from being taken away by the devil(real rapture), how many will believe him. Besides, everyone is looking for the number 666 or something evil. Do you think the devil will be so obvious? Look at Todd Bentley who we know if a fake. What if he told his followers to take a tattoo to prove the anointing?

Made me think!

A wolf in sheep's clothing.

Deleur, it wouldn't surprise me if a christian symbol is used. Look how religion deceives many today.

It's not about religion, it's about our relationship with Him through His Word.

We have to remain VERY close to His Word.
