And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the witness of Jesus and for the Word of God, and who had not worshiped the beast nor his image, nor had received his mark on their foreheads, nor in their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
(Rev 20:4)

They were beheaded for two reasons; witnessing for Jesus and not worshipping the beast or receiving his mark.

Thank you, but now i am a little confused. Paradigm said they will ask plainly and clearly whether you deny Jesus Christ is your God.
Makes it sound like they will just ask you for whatever reasons. The verse you showed makes it sound like they were "caught" witnessing, therefore, beheaded because of that. Not because they were asked ahead of time.
Am i getting too technical on that? Or am i totally missing the boat. :lol2 :scratch

^^^^ Well this is what I believe might happen:

1. A one world religion will be established. A religion that denies Jesus Christ is God.
2. People who accept the mark will do so willing knowing that they are accepting this religion. Most people will because they already believe that Jesus is not God.
3. Anybody that refuses to accept the mark will be asked why. Just saying "because I don't want to" is probably not going to make them happy. Left behind Christians will have to acknowledge that they love Jesus, at which point they will be arrested and sentenced to death by beheading.

Is it possible that an RFID chip (for example) is the mark of the beast? I doubt it. In my view, the "mark" is not going to be a physical identifier or a physical object, but a spiritual decision or a spiritual identifier (ie. it's what God sees on the inside, not what we see on the outside). Merely having a tattoo painted on to your hand, perhaps by force, is not going to wash away the saving blood of the Lamb. It is the intent of the decision behind such an act that will be the real decider.

If this view is correct, then we (or future Christians) have no theological reasons for rejecting an RFID chip, though there may be other reasons that others here have acknowledged.

I'm still thinking through this, and would value some feedback. :)

It is a decision to worship the beast and a real mark. There would be no way of controlling what you bought or sold without having some kind of technology to monitor this.

Revelation

16He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, 17so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.

Revelation 14:9

9A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: "If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand,

Revelation 16:2
2The first angel went and poured out his bowl on the land, and ugly and painful sores broke out on the people who had the mark of the beast and worshiped his image.

Revelation 20:4 (New International Version)

4I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
