Right division simply means this: While God never changes, the way He has dealt with mankind throughout the ages has changed. He's dealing with mankind differently now than in Old Testament days. Simple study of the Bible will show how God's dealings with man have changed. People often get confused and take God's Words and dealings with the nation of Israel and try to apply them to us in this dispensation of grace. They try to apply OT law to our lives today, and as a result they get entangled in legalism and error. And it results in our confusion and taking Scripture out of context. Many times, it means that we put ourselves back under the law. We need to know how to rightly divide God's Word in order to know what He expects of us today. I've often heard folks say that the Bible contradicts itself, but right division will show that, not only does God's Word NEVER contradict itself, but it confirms and verifies itself.
Hope this helps.

Well said , GFM...And rightly Dividing the word is the mindset we need to maintain in every aspect of our lives. If Paul is our Apostle, then we should build on that foundation,Christ being the Cornerstone. If we try building on the wrong foundation,we lay a snare for ourselves ,which allows condemnation and confusion to creep in.Leagalism,Apostacy, erronious doctrine, contradiction, self righteousness and many other things are signs of a wrong interpretation of scripture and at the Judgement seat of Christ, our efforts and stewardship of what we taught, how we thought, what we trusted in,what we believed and where our hearts were will be tested by God's consuming fire(presumebly to check the worth and value of our accomplishments). The Bible doesn't suffer fools,It takes a group effort,Christians working together and teaching, exorting, correcting and edifying one another(the Body ?) Yeah, like cells in our body. :hat

Its quite common to hear this phrase coming from dispensationalists. Rightly so, but any concept can be distorted. The longer I live and hear what other christians believe, the more I am persuaded that the starting point for rightly dividing the word is.....the cross.....which I don't necessarily hear this emphasis in dispensationalist circles. I think it is far more important then any of us fully realize.

rightly dividing the word is seperating law from grace.i believe the final gospal given to paul is the gospal of grace.it is the two different comings of christ.for example the book of revelation has nothing to do with those who are born again.if that be the case , of what value is the book of revelation to grace believers? i see jesus there, but what jesus do i see? i do not see the christ that lives in the believer. who is it that walks among the candlesticks in the seven churches? it is the same jesus who attempted to restore israel, jesus of nazareth, who now has come back to finish the job.
when jesus taught about returning to this earth , he clearly was talking about returning to end the age of restoration. he was talking about a different coming altogether than the rapture.

also... we are a different group of people , there are many people in the church who are born again and they are getting ready for the tribulation period, just remember the tribulation period may start five seconds after we are gone , but not five seconds before.God did not rebirth you to destroy you...
the reborn will not live through the tribulation.. thank GOD. take me up to your heanenly kingdom..:yeah

it is possible that commingling has added more to the dumbing down of the modern believer than anything else. this makes it one of the greatest evils to be found in many ministries. it is also one of satans tools to keep the believers from the truth of victorious living. commingling hides the truth so the believer never knows what God's message is. i am convinced great numbers of believers use scriptures that were meant for someone else or for some other time period or purpose of God and do not apply to them. the end result is God may not want to bless such ingorance , yet he often does because of his mercy and grace. 2 timothy 2:15 believers who cannot rightly divide the word of truth in time punish themselves for not knowing what the father is specifically saying to them . to some ingorance is blissbut in time it is never blessed by the father.

this is my Pauline Brother's web site blog that brings out and emphasizes our position on N.T.doctrine concerning the differences between the Jewish church(faith plus works), and the Paul's Epistles, The Church , the Body of Christ(salvation by grace thru faith of Christ) , two distinct , separate Churches ; Jewish (Kingdom of Heaven, the Gospels,Acts1-13, and Hebrews thru Revelation.) And Gentile church ( Kingdom of God,Acts 13-28 , Romans thru Philemon). Anyway , here is the site: http:www.twochurches.blogspot.com :thumb
