Well today was the first day of school! :thumb We had a great time. I have two (11,13) learning about ancient Eygpt and my oldest learning all sorts of things but I can say we had a rocking good time. We are now resting. I have 7 more minutes of rest then off to one on one time with each child for 30 minutes each!

Sounds great. We are not starting until the 24th. We usually don't start until after Labor Day is done but this year we will be on the local ps starting date.. Our activities for the most part went on all summer and it doesn't feel like we have had much of a break! I am not ready....:thinking:faint

We haven't even gone on vacation yet! We plan on starting Sept. 7.
Circleslide, do you do timelines? There's a great one that includes a lot of Egyptian stuff.

Reason,
No we aren't doing time lines this month, I should really check them out!!!. Right now we are studying Joseph along side Egyptian history so it is very fascinating to say the least. Tomorrow we have a field trip to downtown Indy with another homeschooling family. We always have so much fun!

You guys are so lucky it starts august 25th here, and lasts until June 10th but there are half days every month here it is a pain in the butt in terms of making sure kids get home. Some people can't afford daycare.

StumbleButFall, HI!
We are talking about homeschooling? I don't use daycare. Do you homeschool?

Congratulations on a wonderful first day! :yeah
We started on the first of this month so that we can take all of December off.
I love having that flexibility!

We had our first day of homeschooling, ever. Nice...we were done around 1:00...we started around 8:30. Kids love not having to sit all day. They were so happy just to be able to spend this beautiful afternoon in the park.

Congratulations, House of Light.
I take it your kids were in public school before. Are they elementary or middle school?
We don't start until Sept. 8, so I still have a bit of time to get us all ready. We're almost there. For us, getting ready this year is not just about buying school supplies and selecting curriculum - done all that; we're also reconfiguring all three of my kids' rooms. Teen son is almost done, but he just can't get the last few miscellaneous items off his floor! Teen daughter wants my help, doesn't want my help, and is generally struggling with a huge job.
