Max Lucado and others

I got a little book given to me by him and it was really good - I ordered a few more of his books , used, online.....I guess I should've asked about him BEFORE I ordered them:doh

Is he sound in his teachings? I didn't see anything strange in the first book ... thanks, ysic, DLee

I read "Traveling Light" by Lucado and really liked that. Another really good author is Brennan Manning. I just bought a book by him, I think is titled Abba's Child.

Max Lucado has written wonderful children's books too. I was blown away that I could actually order some of them through my son's public school Scholastic Book Club order forms!!!!! Probably because they all demonstrate the Lord's love (and open the doors for us to have faith based chats with our kids) without being overtly about Christ... I admire the way Lucado is trying to minister to children too.

Hey celtic, maybe you should start a thread about favorite books/authors, you always have so much knowledge and wisdom to share. Would love to know what you love to read! I don't always have a lot of time (small kids) but on rainy days like today I can grab some reading time. :)

I've been reading some Fruchtenbaum (Footsteps of the Messiah) and Bonhoeffer (Cost of Discipleship).

But Max Lucado is a new ager sympathizer and ecumenist and was also a pastor of a cult church, Boston Church of Christ. Don't know if he is any longer. He has also endorsed contemplative stuff and perversions of the Word of God.
