They are doing allot of damage to our brothers and sisters. Allot of shipwrecked faith.

Its good that we speak up, they need to be shown as W.O.F and false.

Its not like we are pointing out the faults of a brother or sister who stumble, these guys influence allot of people and are taking in alot of $$$$$$$$$, plus they do not help our witness AT ALL.

It needs to be said, for the Church and to tell the New believers what to look out for.
They are also doing a lot of damage to the lost who view their twisted theology and conclude this is what Christianity is all about.
As one poster said, this is a no brainer.

What part don't you get? This is not about making "little" mistakes in teaching the bible, this is about not teaching the basic truth! And the real truth is way far from the WOF. It is a simple seduction and lies mixed in with just enough Jesus and faith that looks good. They have their whole cross message mixed up and their own agenda.

Let me ask...where do you think those 200 people that got saved are now with their faith? I seen him a few times. Spent a ton of money on his material which is in my garage now. :heh And he was one of my favorites. (I learned not to follow man anymore like I used too)

I have spent almost 8 years under the WOF and I know what it can do to a persons faith. I know many others also.

Nobody said that they don't pray for these people. I don't know where you got that from. I think it is a bigger issue that they are taking over and have a big 'seductive' influence. I think the big danger of them is that if you are under their teaching long enough, you will start to doubt your faith and give up on God and forget the whole point of Christianity.

And to end my little rant. I do feel like it IS OUR job to warn Christians about false teachers. This is not no nit pic thing.

I'm glad you were rescued out of it. :hug
I cant believe some people would rather have others remain trapped in it. :ohno

Rather than this type of stuff, maybe we should expend as much energy into praying for these men/women who are on the front lines. Do they mess up, of course they do.
Intended false theology is more than a mess up, it is worse than the closed door of false cults because it is televised presenting a false gospel to the world. :ohno

Palooka,

Praise God He rescued you from WOF. That is confirmation that you are His, Hallelujah! When we discern there is error in teaching, it is the Holy Spirit indwelling us that prods us...blessing us with His Discernment (just as the Bible promised the Holy Spirit leads us into all truth, telling us the way we should go). How grateful am I for His Counsel in the days we live in!

There is such a strong disdain for those who speak out against teaching that is misguided, or blatantly false. Why?

We are cautioned throughout the Bible to be Bereans, workman approved and unashamed before God, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. The book of Jude urges us to 'contend for the faith', and has always been my motivation behind pointing out error. The Lord will judge the eternal destination of the false teacher, that is not our concern. However, I agree with you that we are to look out for one another. Consider these:

That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive. Eph 4:14

For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. Jude 1:4

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. 2 Pe 2:3

Our Father warned us of these periless days. To my mind, He wants us to share with others when we see error making 'merchandise of our brethren'.

Shalom in Christ

I understand that, but I don't understand why you think that changes what was said.

As far as I know, there's nothing in the texts that identify those people as followers
of John.

I'm unclear on why you think that they "later received the indwelling of the Holy Spirit"
changes what was said (Mark 9:38-40).

Agreed. But, respectfully, I'm not sure what your point is here and how it applies to
what I posted.

ATYCLB,

I don't want to derail the thread. I only brought that up, because Jesus, said people, will stand before him, who would cast out demons, using his name, he says he doesn't know them?

I do not think Jesus, was referring to all the groups, who would be using his name, for exorcisms, or those who promote another christ, like Matthew Fox, Bishop Spong, Bishop Swing, Richard Rohr, promoting ancestral spirit ritual with initiations?

or other groups, who are using his name, for fortune telling. It seems he was referring to those, at that time, who were using his name, who were working, with the info they had, many were John the Baptists converts, before Pentecost. There are many warnings, in the New Testament against false Prophets and teachers..

Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Why would he have to publically repent? If he repented to our heavenly Father... asked his then wife to forgive him, and his current wife.... his children from the first marriage, and asked forgiveness from the congregation at that time............who are we to reach in that "Sea of Forgetfulness" and condemn Pastor Hagee?

Have you not sinned a sin since you came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior? Have you taught even children about Jesus.... since this "sin" was forgiven, if you repented; did you tell these in who you have "taught" that you committed sin and repented publically for it each time you teach the Word of God now? Do you tell all in who you spread the Word to about the sins that you have already repented for and was granted forgiveness?

Why is it that Christians today have reached in where it is forbid for us to reach, pull out someone else's sin and smear it all over for everyone to see? Doesn't Satan do that? How about Abraham, Moses, David, Job, Peter, Paul, etc.... are we not to even read the Bible due to their sins? If you are going to nail Pastor Hagee to the wall, then you should be doing so with Peter who denied Christ three times.... hmmmm what happens if one deny's Christ... what does the scripture say folks?

Even Paul spoke about, he knew what was right, but he still did what was wrong. Did he not? Why is it that Christians love to kill their own? :doh

Lord, be with us this day!!!!
:reaction
celtic *looks around* are you talking too me? because i never said he had to publicly repent - the poster i replied to said this...not me.

i've watched John Hagee speak on the internet & he's great, my point was - when you are IN CHRIST you do better :thumb i still stuff up and ask for forgiveness but In Jesus we are a new creature, also people who are in positions of authority in the church need to step up, too many give Jesus a bad name. not saying that Hagee is one of them.....why am i even bothering to type this :doh

Mike Murdock! *runs away* Reminds me of a book I read from him that made me so mad and scared me too death. I can't remember the one! The reason is..is that I saw him at the Pensacola, Browsville Revival! (remember that anyone?)Then it reminds me of Steve Hill! Steve was a hell fire preacher as I will get out.... He was the only preacher that I can honestly say...that made me feel or think that I had to get saved 'again' every night and run down to the altar and I did there for 3 days straight! (well besides the AOG growing up. :heh) But funny thing is that he landed himself on TBN after all that. I just searched for some links and found a ton. Too many to list. lol

I drove all the way to florida for this.:doh Seriously. I have been through the ringer with my faith. I just don't really have much anymore. ( I mean for my life, I see grace on others) because of everything that I have experienced. Yep, I was a charismatic/ wof/growing up pentacostal christian to the T. Now I just sit behind my putor complaining. :ohno

I hope that little bit of faith that I have will get me to heaven and still believe in Jesus and what he did. Can you see what this will do to a person? I think Christiananity is really simple, but man makes it out to be so complicated and confusing.

So for anyone that wants to take up for the WOF, etc... Just wait.. Dabble a little and it will burn your soul out!

Okay... I will breath. lol Sorry for all the sp.

Palooka Bless you!

I hope you don't mind me saying that reading of your difficult and disgusting experiences (not your fault!) simply is a class A exhibit of the dangers of some of the hyper charismatics, new word or new mini relevation from God, or new exotic experience oriented folks thatwe discuss/debate with, who don't seem get the frequent later problems that well meaning good believers are set up to, with frequent defeat and disillusionment.

If I may so much as be allowed to say so, as a brother in Christ, your little bit of faith is actually a HUGE bit of faith, and the only real need. It doesn't have to be validated by any of this phony spiritual gymnastics, hyper spiritual merit badge, donate here stuff.

Jesus is still here, and will take you to eternal joy with just that little bit, actually HUGE bit of faith. Rest assured. And although I'm sure its not fun to relate, your experiences are a valuable help and lesson to many. Bless you!
