Yeah, that's the point I was trying to make earlier. I know that the pastors are paid from donations, but people like Bill Gates and Warren Buffet are applauded for their wealth, but let a preacher creep into the six figure bracket and here come the cameras.

And the donations are voluntary. No one forces the "little ole ladies" and people on fixed income to ship their money to Fred. But God will settle the score.

Who's to say that if we were in Fred's shoes, we might do the same thing.

[QUOTE=BrotheroftheSon;154103]Most of these types of secular programs like 2020 have an ax to grind when it comes to christain ministers. Most of the ministers they attack have a fixed salery from their ministry. They do have side ventures that bring in money also. as far as I am concerned, they deserve all they get. Who else is working to bring in so many souls into Gods Kingdom? Is this not the single most important job on this planet?

When ministers have business endeavors, I agree with you, they deserve every penny they make. When men/women are on TV asking for donations to pay for air time to help further the gospel, then I believe they should be good stewards of the money sent to them. Take enough to live on, but not squander it away on ridiculously lavish lifestyles.

Here are three scriptures I have never heard used or preached about on TV.....Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses, Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat. Matthew 10:8-10

However, I have heard televangelists tell their viewing audience if they wanted to receive a miracle of healing, or finances, etc., to send in money, and they are usually encouraged to give "the best they can give". We just don't see Jesus or the disciples preaching this message.

I couldn't agree with you more, which is why we all need accountability.

In the clip, Price declares, "I live in a 25-room mansion, I have my own $6-million yacht, I have my own private jet and I have my own helicopter and I have seven luxury automobiles."

Convicted by his own words. Oh boo hoo Fred....

20/20 should have reported on the following statements made by Price......:shocked

This developed him into being the chief exponent of naming it and claiming it. Say it and frame it, speak it and keep it. Price who has become famous for his anti biblical stance of If you have to say, “if it be thy will or thy will be done- if you have to say that, then your calling God a fool.” He explains “What they told me to do was that whenever I prayed I should always say, ‘The will of the Lord be done.,’ Now, doesn’t that sound humble? It does. Sounds like humility, it’s really stupidity. I mean, you know, really, we insult God. I mean, we really do insult our Heavenly Father. We do; we really insult Him without even realizing it. If you have to say, ‘If it be thy will or’ Thy will be done’-if you have to say that, then you’re calling God a fool because he’s the One that told us to ask…. (“Ever Increasing Faith” program on TBN Nov.16,1990).

:shocked

He also promotes the myth that Jesus was very rich and incorporates this into his theology of why every believer should be rich. “The whole point is I’m trying to get you to see-to get you out of this malaise of thinking that Jesus and the disciples were poor and then relating that to you thinking that you, as a child of God, have to follow Jesus. The Bible says that He has left us an example that we should follow His steps. That’s the reason why I drive a Rolls Royce. I’m following Jesus’ steps.” (“Ever Increasing Faith” program on TBN December19 1990].)

Good for Fred! 2020 mis quoted him. He does not own those things. I will have to side with my brother in Christ on this one.

For 12 years I watched Fred Price faithfully, along with every other WOF preacher TBN has to offer and I heard with MY own ears him bragging about his Rolls Royce car, his Mercedes car, his mansion with the home theater that was just like a movie theater, his jet plane, and his yacht - how did 20/20 misquote him? I also wouldn't be too quick to call him a brother in Christ when he teaches another gospel than the one Jesus preached! I can't judge whether Fred Price is saved or not - that's between him and God. However, I can righteously judge by the bible that his theology is faulty and not the gospel that Jesus preached! Jesus preached GIVING and SACRIFICING for OTHERS, Fred preaches receiving riches for himself here on earth. If Fred and the other WOF preachers truly believed that it was better to give than receive then they'd be doing ALL the giving instead of ALL the receiving!

And BTW, I've mentioned before the dirty little secret these ministries have of using ministry funds, i.e. donations sent into them to PREACH the gospel, to buy millions of dollars worth of their own books and teaching tapes. These preachers get paid upfront millions of donated dollars and then the books and tapes are re-sold at their meetings. Using money donated to preach the gospel and feed and clothe the poor, etc. to finance the rich luxurious lifestyles of these so-called preachers just reeks of fraud to me!!!

I believe in praying....if it be God's will. If it is His will and He answers in accordance with His will, then I know that what I got was really what I wanted, because it is His will.

Plus, you can't subvert God's answer to prayer by leaving out or adding anything. It's going to be His will if He answers in accordance with your request.

That also doesn't necessarily mean that Fred gets all of the goodies that he prays for because of some prayer formula. He may get them by his own efforts, subversive or otherwise. These possessions will eventually fade, and he can not stand before God in a $5,000.00 suit and drive his Rolls Royce to heaven.

If faith really can get Fred a Rolls Royce, then why can't he go to the local hospital and use his faith to bring healing to all of the sick patients? :scratch

Its a scam, and there will always be followers of any scam if the leader is convincing enough.

I wonder what Frederick Price would say about Jesus' prayer......:scratch

"Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done." Luke 22:42

That has to be the most dificult thing for a human being to say. I don't know if I could say that.

Go ahead do whatever you want to me God just use it for your Glory. (I guess I'm a coward) :ohno
