I just saw a headline on an article that read: "Like Armageddon"
From the pictures and videos that I've seen, it really does look eerie.

Nothing really around where I am thankfully, but pretty bad nonetheless. We are usually on total fire ban at all times. I remember as a kid we use to be able to have backyard fires and bonfires at a moment's notice. Those days certainly are gone. However, like most fires, these bushfires are deliberately lit I think.
I awoke this morning to see the skies clear but the evidence of what has been will linger on. Oh well, time to get out the bucket and sponge. The dams in our region are carrying just under 10% of total capacity so I think they are going to allow us to use a little bit more water than usual to wash all the dust away. Still, without significant rain, our dam will hit 0% in about 18 months.
Praying for you that the Lord will sustain you and provide for all your needs Amen.
It must be hard to keep trusting in Him when your water supply is so low. However the Lord is doing something in the Spiritual Realm for those around you who are Lost and need Salvation.
I have manic depression and it is hard to stave off panic attacks which can overwhelm me. I have to really keep in His word and know that God is faithful and provides for His children.

I'm sorry you are going through this. May I ask you a question? You said above the dust is 'a real fine reddish dust'. However, the article referenced at the beginning of this thread said, 'The fiery haze was the result of the sun hitting the blanket of dust, Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Jane Golding said'.
Now, I'm curious. Is the dust actually red? Or id the dust itself brown, and only looking red when the sun is hitting it? Can you tell?
Peace777, Yep the Dust is RED. When the sun fully came up the air looked like it had a pink haze to it. The Red glow affect was only experienced at Dawn as the Sun started to break through the dark sky. We get the same affect when there is a lot of ash and dust from a Fire. You can get this at sunrise and sunset. The sky ends up looking like it is ablaze. Although this was even more freaky because it wasn't just part of the sky that was glowing red but the whole sky and event the atmosphere around you. The air around you looked a sort of dark pink but as you looked around it got redder the further in the distance you focused. So it was really surreal and beyond anything we have seen before.
I don't balme anyone for thinking it was the End of the World. Of course for those of us who know the Bible (and are saved) we understand it takes more than a glowing red sky to signify Armaggedon has commenced. First of all we wouldn't be here but for those saved in the Tribulation they will be expecting to see Jesus and his army descending from the sky.

yep red dust, topsoil from the outback almost like clay blowing in a giant cloud and heading to New Zealand, and now there may be another storm coming?
I am still tasting this one! (gritty yet very fine and seems to get everywhere)

Hello fellow Queenslander! I am in south east Qld, just west of Brisbane. I heard someone say that millions of tons of top soil have been lost from the farming community in the dust storm. Australia is magnesium deficient as it is so this doesn't help at all. By the same token, this Govt has led us in the ways of the world lately - allowing abortions and considering gay marriage, signing on to the whole global warming lie and leading us away from God's righteous laws. Droughts, floods, bushfires and dust storms - the only thing we haven't experienced this year is a terrorist attack on our soil. May God protect our cities from terrorism and give strength and wisdom to our intelligence services to continue interrupting these plots.
I remember a huge dust storm in the sixties when I was a teenager. It was just as bad and just as red. My husband saw the blue sun. I didn't. I would not go outside yesterday as I am suffering from sinus problems, and the dust made it worse. On the radio this morning, a lot of people were talking about the blue sun and suggesting reasons.
