I've never understood finance stuff.
But this seems most bizaar to me:
The banks tried to scam money off people who they knew couldn't make repayments because the ecconomy was in a booming.
The banks made a monumental greed related mistake, so the government gives the banks $100 billion dollars so they don't crash the market.
I don't suppose those bank managers will be hauled before congress or given a "please explain" command from government? Is a pay rise in the winds?
People make me so angry some times.

What kind of system just prints more money when they want? Did you know the dollar in you pocket is backed by five cents of gold or silver?

Actually, most money today (including the $) is fiat currency. So it is backed by 0 cents of gold or silver. Our currency value is determined by the US Gov't's demand. The Gov't sets the value of the currency.
Which, by the way, isn't something I am fond of.
As for the article, it is a really scary situation. Not the first time the US (and many other banks, Europe was pumping money in too) has been bailed out like this. We've avoided many a depression this way. The whole thing is balanced on a razor's edge.

I just finished reading them before I came to the boards and they did do an excellent job. However, where I struggle is the story on the countries coming around to Gog-Magog. It's a foregone conclusion that we're swirling down the financial toilet since few in this country can effectively handle their finances, and greed has become the religion of choice.

I have heard alot of people say they are storing up gold and silver to have when times get bad, because they know the dollar will fail.

Which is crazy considering that during the great depression our government confiscated all of the gold.
Im sure they will do the same during this depression also, they will confiscate all of the precious metals then turn around and use them as the backing for the Amero.
