Sorry that didn't work - try this again: http://www.waltonfeed.com/grain/faqs/index.html
I don’t store very much canned food as my family doesn’t eat it very much and it takes up more room than freeze dried or dehydrated. I like the idea of storing something once and then not having to replace it for 15 – 30 years.
We do have a heavy stock of the things you can’t buy freeze dried – condiments, spices, and some canned meat like tuna that we use regularly.
This is a great link, thanks!
After reading this and the other site I think expiration dates are a SCAM!

Antibiotics come in powder form. They can last for years! My doctor game me a bunch of samples to use in case my daughter had strep throat (her older sister had it and they thought it might spread). She never got it so I just put them away and will use when needed.

Guess those of us who are allergic to all most all antibiotics out here... are up the creek without a paddle in sight.

Have you tried the herbal stuff? We always use those first and most of the time don't have to go on regular antibiotics.

Yes, try the andrographis and the colloidal silver, and I forgot the other one again but it's in my older post. The links are there too.
I bought some of the fish antibiotics but it'd have to be a major emergency before I'd wanna use those! The ad said pharmaceutical quality, which I took to mean "Wink wink, humans can use it too" but still...

We have turned off our cable tv, we just watch the standared channels now. We don't miss it a whole lot.

Oh, my kingdom to give up cable, but my family would revolt.
I wanted to add something else I found in one of my preparedness books. Save condiments from restaurants and fast food joints. Napkins, salt, pepper, sugars, creams, coffee packs from hotels, soy sauce, catsup, mustard, syrup cups, fry dip--they all save and I have them in baggies in a box in the garage. If something happens, you have a long lasting supply of flavorings for your meals, sweeteners and such, and they save you a ton of money when you don't have to go and buy them at the store. I reorganized my stash yesterday. I think I have enough napkins to put them end to end to the moon and back, but SOMEONE will need them.
I can't shake the feeling that I'm not preparing for us, however, but for anyone that might find our house when we're gone. I have had that feeling for a long time.

I used to be a Mormon and the first thing they will tell you is not to store food in the garage. It gets too hot. The napkins are fine, the toilet paper, paper towels, etc, but the food and especially the coffee creamers (I'd keep them in the fridge) should be in a cool dark spot in the house or basement.
I kept food in the garage at first, it didn't hold up very well. Now I just use it for paper goods and camping equipment.
I've heard tell of people who keep their cars in the garage! It takes all kinds. :heh
You really want to score condiments order a party platter from Subway. They had me so loaded down I could barely carry it all!

True, but the creamers are the powdered kind. I do have things like catsup and such in there--I will rethink my storage place, good advice--thanks! THere are also red peppers from Dominoes, crackers, hand wipes from KFC--it really is kind of a disgusting reminder of how much we used to eat out, but hey, waste not want not.

This would be for women only.....
Make sure you have supplies for TOM. Diva cups and cloth pads are something to have on hand. Also remember that if you have daughters who could come into that age, prepare for them as well. They are easy to clean and take care of and aren't disgusting at all. It will also save some space in storage to not have boxes and boxes of TOM supplies. You only would need one diva cup (there are others besides diva cup…the keeper is another one) and you would only need 15 to 20 cloth pads.
