Global warming? Look at the numbers

Well castle I would be on board with your side if I had not have seen that 60 min segment this past year. But I did see it, and Al Gore was not involved with the interview at all. Look at this link, and tell me why he skewed the facts. A lawyer for the oil company skewed the facts of global warming for the administration. Why? It made the guy resign from his job. Can you imagine you having to leave your job for telling the TRUTH. You would be outraged, especially as a Christian, and knowing the alternative for lying. He stood his ground and lost his job effectively. I don’t like it so I fight for truth.

I don't understand why the group who believes in the theory of global warming REFUSE to look at alternative scientific arguments

I am looking at the evidence, and what has been presented is not that exciting.

Yep. It's hot outside. Wait a minute. It's AUGUST. It's always hot in August.

It would be nice to have 75 degrees all summer long. But I've never seen that in my lifetime, at least not where I live.

August is always hot with temperatures hovering around 100 degrees.

Last time I checked, it's about 100 degrees outside.

I looked at the temp the other day and it showed 105 on mine. Now that was HOT. The cotton in a field not far from my home is about 1 foot tall and flowering. He is going to loose a ton of money, and it is already hard enough on farmers to make a living.

I am the ONLY guy on this board who gives credence to what is being said about global warming. I am NOT sure why, but I am. I have been trying to figure that out for a while. I saw one thread on this board just ridicule people as being liberal for supporting a GW view. And I am the only guy on this board who thinks there is something to all this GW debate. But I am NOT liberal at all. In fact I am probably more conservative than anyone else here. But when I see someone not telling the truth it gets my attention real fast. Especially big lies! Now common mistakes are one thing, but knowingly skewing reports, people loosing their jobs or “resigning”, Monitoring emails of top scientist on the matter. I could not believe what I was seeing so I started paying attention to things surrounding our climate. I do not buy into what Gore says about the oceans rising 10 feet, but I do pay attention to what the top scientist are saying about the matter especially what James Hansen is saying. He is in the know, and he is arguably the world's leading researcher on global warming.

Heck, we can't even forcast local weather for more than 2-3 days in advance, and I am supposed to believe that SOME scientists cane give me definitive weather patterns over decades in advance? pleeeeeease....

I agree on this one for sure! And that is why I am not all the way on board. But one thing about being a Christian, there are predictions about bad weather in the last days. I do think we are in the last years not days, and that is how I see it fitting into scripture.

Lets assume this: emissions do play an adverse role in the weather patterns:

If this is true, I do not think any country will curb their appetite for fossil fuels no matter what, Especially China who is pumping out major amounts of greenhouse gasses.
Things will get worse with our weather as the bible predicts in the last days. Now we can start filling in the blanks as to the how outbreaks of violence will occur. I personally think it will occur over money or the lack of it, and it will turn into a religious war. But many scientists agree that things will get worse as time goes on in terms of GW. This is one reason I believe the rapture will be a few decades from now. 1. The weather will need to get worse. 2. We need to have great poverty to create unrest for the entire world. But I am sure I am wrong about this. But it just seems reasonable especially in light of the reorganization of Israel. It is also one of the reasons why I feel a generation is the life cycle of a human which is now about 100 years. But I do know it is a HOT summer and weather patterns are changing.

Well, that's what they concluded. Seems to me it would have been a no-brainer.

God created everything on cycles. Seems to me that this is also a no-brainer. Global warming aside, I believe our Lord created this earth to last a certain number of days. He knows the number, we don't. Nothing happens outside His Will.

We know that the fear of The Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Aside from that, He tell us to fear nothing. . . . .I'm cool with that.

Global Warming seems to be the new religion. People are changing their entire lives, spending their money and their time for something that is, truly unknown. Maybe GW is caused by man and plays a part in the trib, or maybe it is caused by God, and also is involved in the trib. Maybe it is a trick by satan, to decieve people, to make them spend their lives all on global warming. Much of it is also a pat on the back. Look, I am doing this and this for the earth. I care for the earth, others don't. That's what makes me upset. :ohno I truly am unsure about GW and there is not enough evidence to say either way whether it is just a spoof or hot and real.:idunno Hopefully we'll be gone by the time we find out.:thumb

I really hope you mean that statement! You wrote that you just want people to know the truth. The real truth is that since the global warming propaganda machine got started about three years ago the oil companies have increased there profit by more than 100%, corn per bushel has increased from $1.50 to $4.00, which is now beginning to burden hard working families who do not know why there Milk, eggs, cereal and bread are going up so fast. Did you ever think about how many food products use corn starch? Soybean crops are being replaced with corn crops and I'm sure other crops will soon be affected also as farmers go after the big easy buck. All for the cause of "global warming"! The debate over global warming was designed to keep us distracted so we would not focus on the real lie that global weather was ever a problem we could fix.:scratch

To make more milk, or raise more chickens that lay more eggs, farmers need feed corn and other feed products. But corn prices have soared over the past year as Congress pushes ethanol, a renewable fuel made from corn. Fields that previously grew soybeans are now yielding corn, and that's driven up the price of soybeans as they become scarce.

Iowa State University's Center for Agricultural and Rural Development shocked the farm sector earlier this summer with a report that corn farmers are expected to lock in prices of $4 a bushel through 2010, about double what corn fetched two years ago.

"You will probably be seeing these prices rise for quite a long time and stabilizing, maybe, but not going back to the $2-a-bushel corn," said Jacinto Feitosa, co-director of the center in Ames, Iowa.

I actually do RWSchilz! I just really don't care anymore. I see the resistance to these major issues and people are using GW as a crutch to make more cash on both sides. I whole heartily agree with your post about increasing food prices as being silly. I don't blame them on ethanol production to date. They have not had time to put in place enough ethanol production facilities to warrant these increases. I do believe the increase in gas prices have added more to the bottom line of our costs in food. But I DO think it will bring a true escalation of food cost because of ethanol production in the USA in the near future if it continues. However, what we are seeing now is really raw inflation, and inflation is also in most products across the board. However, wages are not increasing as fast to compensate. The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer! But as for GW debating... It just really is not worth trying to show folks what is going on. When you can show people in black and white where facts were skewed, people getting fired or “retired”, government monitoring our top scientists’ emails and get no response fro this board, I understand it is a mute point now and a true waste of my time. BTW ethanol production was created back in the 80 to combat the rise in gas prices. The farmers were going broke and they needed another avenue to sell their products so their came up with ethanol. It had nothing to do with trying to produce a clean alternative to fossil fuels. I think it is a bad idea! However as a final note, the lord has a way of bringing out the truth as time goes on. So I am sure we will all see a lot in the media on the scientific findings surrounding this subject. :wave
