Someone up above mentioned the AOG. My sister-in-law is AOG but she doesn't speak in tongues and so she feels like a second class citizen. I keep trying to tell her the Bible says all will not speak in tongues, but she is convinced she has to speak in tongues in order to prove she has the Holy Spirit. So she goes up in the front every week waiting for the Lord to give her this gift but He hasn't and she's very depressed about it.

:hug I'm sorry your sister in law has been made to feel that way :ohno Thankfully my church would not behave like that. I think these things must be depend a lot on the pastor and church board :idunno its just not an issue at my church.From what I hear its pretty common in the AOG churches,but I have never been in one like that :scratch

The search for truth is very aggrivating should I keep going to apostate/emergent churches since it sounds like every church is in one way or another?

You call up the church and ask them are they part of Chuck Smith Senior's camp or Junior's. Junior and associates are not supposed to be using the name any longer, so that is another way of possibly knowing, but double-checking would not hurt. :wave

And no, DO NOT GO to an emergent/contemplative/signs and wonders church, as they are teaching ANOTHER GOSPEL which is accursed.

I think my sister-in-law showed me her church's doctrinal statement, but I can't remember if it was the local church she attends or more of a "headquarters" or district type thing, anyway it did say that if you don't speak in tongues you don't have the Holy Spirit. I'll have to check and see whether she got that from her local church or the "headquarters." Maybe if it's not a "headquarters" then, but just a local thing, she can stop feeling so condemned.

It means that people are compromising and not standing for Truth, the True Gospel once delivered to the saints. They are opening the door and in comes the flood because they have itching ears and no longer have the love of the truth but instead have given themselves over to fables and winds of doctrine being swayed by them. Their faith has now become shipwrecked.

I believe God will direct your path if you trust and acknowledge Him.
Also I believe He knows exactly which church He would
have you attend.
Its not just a saying or empty hope, He really cares and will help you.:wave
