The world is going downhill and fast. Where is justice where is truth?!
Someone just pointed out that the church I attend Vineyard is part of a third wave church movement set on getting "sensual" experiences from GOD.

I have heard apostate things about
Church of GOD, Church of Christ, Vineyard, Penecostal, Catholic, I could go on and on
where on this Earth can I find a decent Church?

Imo...Independant Baptist, even then it depends much on the preacher and his leadership.

Should I give up? should I even go to church what's the point? They just want to deceive me. Can I ever find a good Pastor?

Yes I would definately go to church.
Pray and ask God to lead you where He would have you go.

His_Disciple,

It is a sad reality that there is much deception underway in the broader church today. This is not to say there are not solid, Bible preaching churches out there, but they are just harder to find.

Welcome to the family of God...how exciting to have been born again around Easter! As others have no doubt told you, it is so important for us to study the Bible, for ourselves, so that we do not get led astray. When we know the Word, the Holy Spirit will recall to mind scripture that either confirms or denies what is being taught. This is how we best guard ourselves against error.

As another poster suggested, pray for God to lead you to the Church He would have you at. Prior to sitting under the preaching at Church A, seek the Lord and ask Him to clearly reveal to you any error.

When I was young it was easy to find a church ... they all taught sound doctrine, including Hell, Heaven, Sin, Repentance, Salvation...without additives. The Bible warned us that as it got closer to our Lord's return deception would be rampant. We must put on the Armor of God, and trust Him to guide us into all Truth...His Word promises us this.

We live in the 'Bible belt' and yet there are several churches that have slidden into the 'seeker'/'entertainment' mode, and it is a challenge to locate a sound church. A few months ago, however, we did find a small country church that teaches only the Bible and has its focus on missions and a heart for Israel.

Shalom in Christ

Try a Calvary Chapel church near you if there is one.

Do a search under www.calvarychapel.com and make sure it is under Pastor Chuck Smith SENIOR's leadership and not JUNIOR'S as Junior is now emergent.

They are Biblically sound, Christ-centered, no manmade programs churches.

They are contemporary but reverent.

I understand your frustration, too, and I also got sucked into a church I thought was biblically sound and later found out wasn't, and I haven't found a new one yet, either. I think God knows I went there in good faith not knowing some things that were going on when I joined. It's so easy to get sucked in by false teaching if you don't have a good solid background or knowledge of the Bible. Anyway, I think a lot of people share your frustration. It's hard knowing who to trust.

I TOTALLY understand your dilemma. Since leaving the Catholic church I have been very hesitant to "officially" join another specific denomination due to the very reasons you state. For what my .02 is worth, I've spent the majority of my "worship" time reading and studying the bible and books from a wide variety of Christian authors, preachers, and teachers. I have been unofficially fellowshipping and engaging in bible study with both Baptists and Methodists.

My lack of a solid biblical education left me unable to be discerning, and vulnerable to false teachings, although I DO believe that the Holy Spirit has been guiding me along the way in that I have been able to feel when something doesn't "ring true" concerning a teaching, even though I couldn't always say why scripturally. So I would pray for discernment and wisdom.

I've been taking my time with this, as I spent too many years under what I now recognize to be questionable doctrine. I'm afraid to get into the same position again.

I try to keep reminding myself of this:

2 Timothy 3

Godlessness in the Last Days

1But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.

6They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over weak-willed women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, 7always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth. 8Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these men oppose the truth—men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. 9But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone. Paul's Charge to Timothy

10You, however, know all about my teaching, my way of life, my purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance, 11persecutions, sufferings—what kinds of things happened to me in Antioch, Iconium and Lystra, the persecutions I endured. Yet the Lord rescued me from all of them. 12In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 13while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.:nod
