Oh my, 'Christian no more'; perhaps, 'never' would be the better word choice.
Continuing to pray the emergents wake up.

The following comment is from my daughter: (middle school)

I think this is disgraceful, how they are mocking our faith! Especially, the first one on 'dress code'. Jesus walked with poor fisherman, w/o the IBM-look and used these men greatly! It concerns me that when I'm an adult there won't be any churches that teach the Bible...slim pickins' already.
Thank you for posting this.

Joel Your comments are the slam dunkin' bomb as usual. Thank you as always for sharing your tremendous wisdom and insights.

Buzz, thanks for the great food for thought serve up

Sing, good to see you back again, and thanks for your thoughts!

Discernment and error exposure is not always pleasant. We weep for the masses misled, and the various individuals who could or should know better. The flack we get from some of the phony hyperspirituals makes it even more difficult at times, but the focus is on Jesus and his prevailing power, word, and truth.

Sorry, also wanted to thank ATYCLB, Allfor Him, Byhisgrace, hvnw8s also for your contributions and fellowship.

Also, special note to True2Yeshua: whoever you are, and I don't think we've yet responded directly to each other, I wanted you to know that your many GREAT posts are much appreciated, and I always glean something, or many things from them.

I only hope and pray that when it's over, I'll be viewed as congruent with your board name.

God bless all!

Thanks bretherns - I have seen this subtle deception up front as I have been dabbling into "Christians and politics" concerns for some time and also witnessing it here [New Zealand] it is infinitely more powerful in the English-speaking church scene in NZ than in America. There is this deception that if we are to grow up beyond baby Christians we would apply simply [what we have interpreted as] Jesus's teachings when He was on Earth to our lives. IMHO this ignores two factors:

1. Biblically, a lot of the Synoptic Gospels are Jesus's Kingdom message to Jews which are not really directly applicable to the church. They should be piegon-holed to this dispensation. Most of the people who know what these are and yet embrace these do not believe in dispensational theology (pre-trib).

2. And more fundamentally, are we reading these passages with a humanist assumption that "mankind is basically good and all things including the most evil ones, the worst sins, still have some reflections of God's goodness reflected within it"? Are we prescribing the humanist position that "Mankind can be as God on this side of Earth"? Are we believing that "We build God's Kingdom on Earth politically to look for Christ's return"?

The devil can use these misunderstanding and lure us away from the centre of the gospel.

YBIC,

Joel
