My son was reading over my shoulder as I browsed thru rr-bb tonight and asked what "rapture" meant.
I did my best to explain to him, in almost-8-year-old terms what it meant, where Jesus talked about it in scripture....

He asked questions that I couldn't answer...either because i really had no clue, or I couldn't put the ideas in kid-friendly terminology.

So, does anyone know if there is a such thing as a book or study in end times stuff for kids? My son is a smart kid....which is great when i have the answers...and not so great when I don't! LOL!

Even maybe just a way to bullet point the basics (well...a little MORe than the basics) for him would be great. As much as I know about rapture doctrine, i can easily say that there is at least 10 times as much that I don't know or understand..and I don't want to give him the wrong answers!

There's the kids Left Behind series. I don't know anything about how it's written but I've seen it at Lifeway. I suppose it's based on the same series that was for adults.

Here's a link to their website. You can search for a store in your area from the link. http://www.lifewaystores.com/lwstore/default.asp?mscssid=TSHD8E6MEFQF9G94E7JU6G5S3GBH61 J4

David Reagan's "Jesus is Coming Again' for Children

http://www.lamblion.com/Web10-03.php

You have to scroll down to see it. Dr. Reagan says things in such clear, easy to understand language in his books for adults, I would bet this children's version is very good as well.

cool
thanks. i will check it out.

as far as leftbehind for kids....i think at this point i would rather stick to something that isn't fictional...they might think that everythign in those books is fact and I don't want to confuse them at this point with an already difficult to grasp subject (even for me). when they are in their teens that might be an option...but these are 5, 8 and 11 year old kids.

That's probably true. I researched it just now and found out it's for teens and young adults. That surprised me. I figured it was for young children ages 8 - 12. The adult version was at such an elementary reading level itself that I figured it was geared to early teens and above.

My daughter is reading through the series, she's now 13, but started them when she was 12.

Which series? The one for teens and young adults or the one for adults?

The one for teens. She loves them and is eager to get to the library for the next one.
