I always found coupons readily available for "foods" loaded with preservatives and artificial colors and flavors.

Have things changed?

I would love to use coupons for foods like pasta, spaghetti sauce, etc. I don't believe you can find any for meat, cheese and milk.

I just may have to get a Sunday paper and see for myself.

Coupons are pretty worthless to me because of this very thing. I don't buy the processed junk they have coupons for.

I went to the local Wallyworld the other night...now I do not grocery shop..DH does it cuz I hate to, anyway, a gallon of milk $3.50, a box of cereal $3.99, etc. I bought almost nothing and ended up spending $40.00! I couldn't believe how packaging has changed..much smaller packing and higher price! Ah..this is not good!

My last grocery shopping trip, milk was $4.10 a gallon, and some cereal is well over $4 a box. Jumbo eggs were $1.79/dozen.

Ridiculous !!:shocked

My husband recently was complaining about how expensive a simple loaf of bread has become.

I told him not to forget about how expensive a gallon of milk is! We may just have to go to powdered milk...I seriously think that it would go a lot ****her. I don't know how it tastes. Most people say it tastes terrible...but how many people have really tried it?

Aparently it's not bad if you mix it with 'real' milk. I mean make 1 gallon of pwd milk and mix with 1 gallon of 2%. Now you have 2 gallons of milk much cheaper but not horrible taste.

Don't know why there are asterisks in my post.

I'm guessing you typed F-A-R-T-H-E-R, which was censored because it has the word F-A-R-T in it.

There are coupons for just about everything. I got eight jars of Prego last week for 0.25 per jar. I have several pasta and rice coupons that I haven't used yet and I generally always have coupons for meat, milk and cheese. I just got a great deal on Kraft cheese in Kroger. I have been buying Schepps milk with coupons and there are many, many meat coupons. Stores like Target have coupons available online for fruit, veg and other things.

Seriously folks, you can get *good* stuff. I don't feed my family junk :)

After posting what I did on coupons my husband goes and finds a way to get all kinds of GOOD coupons for stuff we really use! I'm eating my words now. He somehow found this place http://couponbar.coupons.com/CBInstalled.asp and we saved $3 tonight when we went to go pick up a few things. I have printed tons of GREAT coupons from these places. The only down side is they want you to sign in so I created a junk email account to give out.

I took hubby grocery shopping the other day with me and after seeing the price of eggs has agreed to let me get chickens! If I had known that was all it would take, I would have taken him months ago :)

I know I use coupons too. It also helps going to different stores and knowing who has the best buy for the products you use and then if they double or triple your coupon.

I used to get the best deals at Ralphs in San Diego, they tripled coupons up to 5 bucks years ago. It was wonderful.

I go to 2 stores for groceries and I used to shop at 3 stores (in one day) to save $$.

I go to the "why pay more" store and get everything that is on sale, even reduced meat.

Second trip is to Wal Mart for everything else.

I may just start going to that 3rd store again.
