Yes, I agree. But there will be a day where if you openly use His Name, you just won't get booted out of a club. You'll be charged with treason. This is just a fore-shadow of things to come.
you got that right, i'll keep wearing my Jesus shirts :thumb

Back in the day, it was a "Christian" organization, with Christian principles. Unless things have changed dramatically, those values still stand.
With "emergent" churches these days, I'm finding there are more and more "emergent" organizations and "emergent" Christians to boot. Off topic--but perhaps YMCA has gone that way.

Sorry thats
Shut up or your out.....
Long story short.
Yesterday at the YMCA I had a conversation with a woman about the need for Jesus Christ.
I even went so far as to warn her about hell and i told her about what the bible says in many area's.
She became very uncomfortable.(her words) with me talking about these things.
This morning i get a call from another woman at the Y.
One who is has been put in charge.
She told me if i ever have any conversations about these things with anyone again (member or employee) i will have my membership revoked.
Should I try to fight this and go and have a meeting with her and possibly try to shear the gospel with her at the risk of my membership?
or should i just be quiet?
It is her domain down their after all.
Turtle, you ought to contact your local paper and have them run a story about this issue..If you could convince the paper to run a story like this, many will come to your defence because its your right to express free speech,...Your rights are being violated.

Turtle - just curious if you responded to them in any way? May you be given strength whichever way you decide to approach it!!

I've been thinking this through...and my view is a bit different...
1. Yes, YMCA has at the heart 'Christian'...so mentioning Christ should not be a problem...
HOWEVER...
2. I have seen several posts by the OP on RR in which he does not always express himself clearly and is at times offensive (including a thread he posted yesterday that was closed for just such an issue). I am wondering if we are in fact, only getting half of the story.
Perhaps the woman in question (who apparently complained) asked him NOT to continue talking to her and he persisted. Then, she is within her rights to complain that he is harassing her. And after his tirade in the other thread yesterday, it seems possible that he may have expressed himself in a way that could have been seen to be inappropriate (not the mention of Christ, but perhaps the way in which it was done).
While sharing the Word is great...even the Bible says that if they do not want to hear to let them be and move on. So if someone says that they want you to leave them alone...you are following the Bible if you give in to those wishes and leave them alone.
As to the YMCA telling the OP to stop...if the OP has been doing this at other times and people are complaining, then they are going to ask the OP to cease and desist. It is one thing to share the Word, but if you are seen to be harassing people, you will do more harm to the cause, than any good.
Clearly OP, the approach you are using is not working. Perhaps you need seek in prayer for a more effective approach. Perhaps you could leave tracts around?

Isn't it interesting that the group which originally was founded as the "Young Men's Christian Association" (YMCA) now has been taken over by evil to the point of threatening expulsion to anyone speaking of God ?????
It is just evidence of how far into the last days we have come.

Maybe you should bring the mission statement of the YMCA to the lady, and in love and humility, point out to her that you were just following the core ideas of the organization. Maybe she will leave because she is unaware that she is working for a "Christian" organization. -- This is my personal favorite for a solution! :lol2
