View Full Version : Will this Generation see the End of the Age? (merged)

I feel sure that a generation is equal to a life span of 70 to 80 years. So, I don't think there's too much to worry about as far as it taking 20 or 30 more years. The birth pains have begun, "this generation" from 1948 is aging out (62 and counting) and deducting 7 years for the tribulation leaves us very little in years. Just my thought process. :scratch

yipee, we be poofed soon!! Yup!!!
And, another thing is that Matthew 24 says that when the Gospel is preached to all nations, the End will come!!! And it has ALREADY been preached to all nations!!! TBN went worldwide 2 years or so ago...and John Hagee's Ministry is televised WORLDWIDE, so that has been fulfilled already!!
Poof!!! :lol2

Actually, I believe this verse is referring to "the gospel of the kingdom" which will be preached during the tribulation period, so it is yet to be fulfilled:
Matthew 24:14
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Accepted, it's not just my opinion. John Hagee just finished preaching on this verse & said it has already been fulfilled. He says we are in the "last few footsteps of the race" to the Rapture.
And he's not the ONLY preacher who says this verse has already been fulfilled.

I do understand that many people believe that way... the ones who see "the Church" (and the rapture) in Matthew 24 (and 25).

One thing I have found is that the Lord's concept of time is very different than our own. 1000 years to us is like a day to him! I hope the rapture is soon also, but the truth is we have no idea. A generation could be 70, 100, or 120 years. I have heard them all. Whenever it is I am waiting...... and ready:candle

I honestly don't believe it is a set number of years. That would give the dragon too much of a set time clock.
I believe its literal. Someone who was alive when Israel was born will see the Second Coming. That means we leave at least 7 years prior.
We be poofed!
Im not sure if it will be a set number of years or not but I definitely do not think anything could give the dragon too much of a set time clock to go by. Talk to an atheist. If I had undeniable, verifiable proof that God exists they will deny it. If I had undeniable, verifiable proof that Christ is exactly who the Bible says He is they will deny it. We have both of these and atheists deny it. The scales are covering their eyes the same way I believe God can put the scales on the devil. Then there is the issue of pride, even if Satan knew the exact moment, he still believes he is going to succeed.
No matter when it happens, ultimately we know it will happen. Someday someone will say it is going to happen right now and they will be right. How bout now? or now? or now? or ... darn
I was hoping to be "poofed":heh

I grew up on Hal Lindsey and expected the Antichrist in 1981 because a generation was 40 yrs so 1948 + 40 = 1988 - 7yrs = 1981.
Then a Greek scholar was speaking in our church and explained this word used for generation is a generic term and can mean tribe, family, people, nation etc.
It can equally mean the nation of Israel will not pass away until all these things will be fulfilled rather than a fixed time period. In any event the Bridegroom will be late and many virgins will miss the event. There is no doubt that things are clearly moving toward a one world government but until that final agreement is reached for global governance the curtain is not ready to be raised.
I believe God in His mercy will have the true church sound the final alarm to the world that "this is it", the prophetic pieces are all in place for the Antichrist to arise. Repent now for there is no more time left. For that reason, i.e. God's long suffering mercy and that He always issues a final clear warning, I believe we are going to be here a while longer to get this final task completed.
