The signs seem right to us but He may not return in any of our lifetimes. We may all die and be with Him then. We need to concentrate on witnessing to others and take the emphasis off ourselves.

This post has helped me. I think I may be focusing on the rapture too much. Your right. We must occupy until He comes. The joy of the Lord is our strength! Whether it is in good times or bad, we still have this joy He promises if we focus on HIM and not just His blessings. Thanks all!

Jesus'Girl, please listen to ngraham above and what she said, especially what I bolded for you.

You need to stop focusing so much on the rapture. I fear you are wasting all of your mental energy on this. You need put the rapture on the back burner and start to focus on what Jesus wants you to do right here, right now. You need to live in, and occupy the time we have left in this life.... whether it's one hour, or 10 years. What can you DO for Jesus to make a difference before He comes?

I think you mentioned somewhere before that you have chronic illnesses. If that's true and you can't minister physically to others somehow, you can be a prayer warrior. You say you are worried all the time, well, If you are a prayer WARRIOR, you will be less of a WORRIER.

Jesus IS coming. We don't know WHEN. Worrying about it, won't make it happen faster. Live NOW, live for JESUS, let the Master of the Vinyard return and find you working. :hat

Yes! Very good! As I was reading through the posts regarding this, the parable of the talents came to mind. It seems if one is only concentrating on one aspect of our Christian walk, it's like the dude who buried his talent waiting for his Master's return. He didn't go and make it grow--be it in prayer warrioring, witnessing, etc. Yes, the Rapture is a wonderful, wonderful promise from our Glorious Lord and Savior, but it's not the only promise. We, the church, are called to the Great Commission during this time period of the church age. Yes, we can be Watcher's also, but again, if we do nothing but sit and watch, and wait, we appear to be like the guy in the Talent's parable who just sat and waited (and nothing more) for his Master's return.

In spite of the way things are right now, throughout history, there have been worse times. Look at the World Wars, the Civil war, the Revolutionary war, the Crusades, the Holocaust, The Dark Ages. The story of the Martyrs have magnificent testimonies (I believe the book I read was by some guy named Foxxe, I believe? [anyone?] and it was about the Christian Martyrs). So the stuff that is happening now, in retrospect, is not as bad as it could be, or what shall be as this old world draws neigh to the Tribulation. Know that before it gets really, really bad, the Lord has promised to remove us. Rest in that and go outside, or look through the window and marvel at His creation. Read and study, trim your lamp, be ready, please don't let him find you crying and lamenting when He returns...you don't want that, right? Let Him find you busy about His work and doing His business.

and most of all, Rejoice, Rejoice, I say, Rejoice, for our redemption draws near!

God Bless You and I do understand. I've been down in the mouth lately with everything also. Mourning my country, etc. But our REDEEMER LIVES! The joy of the Lord is our strength and the Glory of the Lord is our rear guard! :hug

Wonderful post, Der Linder.

Ditto.... Der Linder, well said.

I find it more bearable, waiting on the rapture, when I have something to do, when I know I have a purpose. If we ask God, He can and will remind us of what we could be doing for HIS Glory, in these end times.

We are helping to write the end of history. Will we sit and weep and moan because we're still here, or will we get out there and share the Gospel, blog about discernment issues, defend the faith, be a prayer warrior?

That's discouraging to say to people. Jesus said that when we see the fig tree bloom (the beginning of these signs) that we are to look up, for our redemption draws near! < mod edit > Look up!

That's discouraging to say to people. Jesus said that when we see the fig tree bloom (the beginning of these signs) that we are to look up, for our redemption draws near! The Holy Spirit made it known to me last night what the fig tree is! It's not just Israel's rebirth, but all the signs He spoke about including earthquakes... we are passed the beginning! Look up!

We ARE looking up. But we aren't going to moan and groan that Jesus is taking so long! You missed the point of her post, and several posts since yesterday. Stop worrying about WHEN He's going to come for us.... just get busy and serve Him until he does.
