Joe 2:3 A fire devours before them, and behind them a flame burns; the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yes, and none has escaped [the ravages of the devouring hordes].

For a long time before May 14, 1948 and in the early days when Israel was declared a nation,...the Land was desolate and barren.
But it was prophesied that Israel would become like the garden of Eden.
Ezekiel 36:35 (New King James Version)
35 So they will say, ‘This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden; and the wasted, desolate, and ruined cities are now fortified and inhabited.’

Also Joel 2;16 says:
Let the bridegroom leave his room

and the bride her chamber.

So it is at the time just moments before this invasion of Israel in the Ezekial 38 battle when the Rapture of the Bride would occur.

Also,...Joel 2;20
20“I will drive the northern army far from you,

pushing it into a parched and barren land,

with its front columns going into the eastern seab

and those in the rear into the western sea.c

And its stench will go up;

its smell will rise.”

This is a geographical description of Russia and surrounding nations.
When one reads Ezekial 38;15 King James Amplified bible,....It states that it is the power from the utter most north that attacks Israel.
If you were to draw a line beginning with Jerusalem drawing due north not moving a hair space to the left or right,...you will find that you have drawn a line straight thru Moscow Russia center for center!
Ezekial 39;11
Talks about that bad smell that you read here in Joel 2;20

11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers : and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The valley of Hamongog.

When you read Ezekial 38;18-20
This is when the Day of the Lord begins, that continues throughout all of Daniels 70th week the Time of Jacobs trouble.
We all know that the Bride is caught up to meet the Lord in the air just prior to the beginning Day of The Lord.
Ezekial 38;18-20
which matches perfectly with revelation 6;14-17, Isaiah 2;19,
Joel 2
Take notice that this Ezekial 38 battle occurs when Israel and the World believes that they are dwelling safely.

Now,..the Lord could have described the flood in detail,...BUT! He did not! Instead He chose to point out a scenerio that they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark.Just as the world was saying "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.(i Thessalonians 5;3)Verse 4;16-17 occurs "BEFORE" verse 5;3
Ezekial 38...describes that the world was living in peace and Israel and the world was not expecting an attack against Israel which is also the time that God's FURY came up in His face, Gods Wrath had Been activated by this attack..It is the beginning of the "Day of the Lord"
The two women grinding at the mill,..a description of normal life,..The Lord added this description to make sure all the world clearly got the picture that He intended

What I am pointing out is that the Day of the Lord begins with Exekial 38;18-20....which matches with revelation 6;14-17.....and joel 2 and that the rapture(Caught Up) occurs just before Gods Wrath(Look at above description again)

Jesus is coming to take us home people,...Get Ready,..Whoo Hoo!

:hat Hi, Benny.

Woo hoo indeed!
So, do you believe we will still be here to see signs of the beginning of the invasion? Did I ask that clearly enough? It's an exciting thought..
Welcome aboard.

Welcome Benny, Interesting scriptures on prophecy timing. It sounds like what I am reading that you don't believe we will be here to see Gog & Magog. I don't either. Thanks for the scriptures. I know that you were talking about how these match up with Rev 6. From what I understand in Rev 4:1 come up hither is a referring of the rapture. I sure hope we will be going home any moment! :rapture :yeah

So can you explain to me, again, how the Day of the Lord (Biblically) starts with Ezekiel 38? I'm a little confused. I think that the invasion will happen after we are taken as well. I thought that because of the scripture that Israel will be blind until the day of the Gentiles is fulfilled. Don't remember where it's at, but the fulfillment of the Gentiles is the Rapture, correct? Neat! That was an exciting post to read!!! Love it! Maranatha!!!!

I had this information in my library,...but I cannot remember it's author.

Ezekiel's Prophecy of Israel's Rebirth in 1948
In the year 592 B.C. in the Babylonian Empire a Hebrew slave named Ezekiel was instructed by an angel to:

" Lie on your left side and put the sin of the house of Israel upon yourself. You are to bear their sin for the number of days you lie on your side. I have assigned you the same number of days as the years of their sin. So for 390 days you will bear the sin of the house of Israel. After you have finished this, lie down again, this time on your right side, and bear the sin of the house of Judah. I have assigned you 40 days, a day for each year." (Ezekiel 4:4-6).

At the time of this visitation the Jews were in captivity after being overthrown by the Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzer in 606 B.C. This 70 year captivity of the Jews had been prophesied extensively by Isaiah almost 100 years earlier (Isaiah 39:5-7) and (Jeremiah chapt 25&27).

Now the prophecy in Ezekiel chapt 4 predicts a total of 430 years of punishment for the nation of Israel. 70 years of this period of punishment are accounted for in the 70 year Babylonian captivity. That leaves 360 more years of punishment unaccounted for. For centuries biblical scholars could find nowhere in history a period of punishment on Israel that could corresponds to the remaining 360 years of punishment.

In the book of Leviticus, chapt 26, we are told that if the nation of Israel did not hearken (obey) unto the Lord that she would be punished. Then after being punished, if the nation continued to be in rebellion toward God that the punishment would be multiplied by seven:

"If you will not listen to me and carry out all these commands, and if you reject my decrees and abhor my laws and fail to carry out all my commands and so violate my covenant...I will set my face against you so that you will be defeated by your enemies. If after all this you will not listen to me, I will punish you for your sins seven times over. "..Leviticus 26: 14-22.

Recently Biblical scholars have applied this Levitical principle of multiplying Israel's punishment by seven to the remaining 360 years of punishment and found a phenomenal discovery. 4

The Biblical prophetic year in the Jewish calendar is 360 days long. This discovery was made by Sir Robert Anderson in his book The Coming Prince. 5 In fact, all ancient calendars of the world, at one time calculated the year as 360 days. So if you multiple the 360 years of remaining punishment x 360 days/year x 7 times punishment (Levitical principle) = 907,200 days. 907,200 days is 2483.8 years (modern Julian calendar years). So, 907,200 days of punishment remained for the nation of Israel after the 70 year Babylonian captivity. The question is where do you begin calculating the remaining 907,200 days?

Servitude of the Nation
There is a Biblical term applied to the nation of Israel called the period of the servitude of the nation. This refers to the period of time that the conquered people of Israel lived through without their own rulership. The people and nation of Israel ceased being a sovereign nation in 606 B.C. And began the first 70 years of servitude at that time. After the 70 year Babylonian captivity they returned to the land but they were ruled over by a succession of empires (Medo-Persian, Greek, Roman) until 70 AD When Jerusalem was destroyed by the Romans. Then for the next 18 centuries the Israelites were dispersed among the many nations of the world and for the most part were slaves. To the Jewish mind they lost their sovereignty in 606 B.C. with the Babylonian takeover and didn't regain it until the servitude of the nation ended on May 14, 1948 when Israel again became a nation.

The Babylonian captivity began July 25th 606 B.C. and ended July 23rd 537 B.C. This was the very day that the Medo-Persian emperor Cyrus gave the decree that allowed the Jews to return to Israel. If you begin counting the 907,200 days of remaining punishment from July 23rd 537 B.C., the day of Cyrus' decree and the end of the first 70 years of the servitude, and go foreword 907,200 days you get May 14th 1948!!! This was the very day that David Ben Gurion announced to the whole world the official formation of the nation of Israel!!!

Skeptical? Read on.

Desolations of Jerusalem
Another term commonly discussed is the period of the desolations of Jerusalem. This was the period of time prophesied by the prophets in which the city of Jerusalem would be desolate and 'trodden down by the gentiles". Many people have mistakenly believed that this term was the same period as the Servitude of the nation discussed above. However, this period of the desolation's of Jerusalem did not begin in 606 B.C. when Nebuchadnezzer took the first captives. The desolation's of Jerusalem began with the third siege of Jerusalem with the destruction of the city and the temple. The city and the temple were destroyed on August 18th ,587 B.C. in the third siege of Nebuchadnezzer and the Babylonian army. Exactly seventy Hebrew calendar years later (360 days/year) brings us to August 16th, 518 B.C. If we begin calculating the remaining 907,200 days of punishment from that day it brings us to June 7th ,1967. This is the very day Israel recaptured the city of Jerusalem during the Six day war with Egypt, Jordan and Syria!!!

How could Ezekiel have predicted this? He couldn't unless he was instructed by one that lives outside of time. Truly god sees the beginning from the end and is outside of time as we know it.

It occurs just slightly prior to the beginning of Daniels 70th week.
The Day of the Lord begins with ezekial 38;18-20 which matches perfectly with Revelation 6;14-17 and Isaiah 2;19
Actually it is this prophecy of every mountain and wall shall fall to the ground, that the dome of the rock is destroyed and providing a way for the third temple to be built.
Considering that Israel's immediate arab neighbors were defeated (Isaiah 17;1/Psalms 83) and the Lord of all creation had wiped out Israels enemies in the Ezekial; 38 prophecy,...logic dictates that there would not be any islamic nations to object to Israel in building a third temple.
The tribulation last's 7 years,...the first 3 1/2 known as tribulation,...the Lord distinguishes the second half by calling it,.."THE GREAT TRIBULATION"
When the Great and terrible Day of the Lord begins,...it begins when the A.O.D. begins. Anytime there is a word change of description, there is a reason for it.
In the first half of Daniels 70th week, the Great multitude, the two witnesses and the 144,000 will be able to witness "UNOBSTRUCTED"and bring many to the Lord in the first half.
The reason for this is because permission to war and overcome the saints is not granted to the beast until the A.O.D. begins and the Beast is also granted to continue for 42 months Revelation 13;5-7.
Malachi 4:5 is clear that the Lord will send Elijah........"before"......... the Great and terrible Day of the Lord.So these two begin witnessing in the first half.
Enoch and Elijah will die their death as it is appointed for man to die once (O.T.Saints before the Cross) ,....when the A.O.D. begins.(Take notice that it was at the midpoint of Daniels 70 week that the Beast, Rev 13;5-7)is granted to overcome "saints" and not before.

The Day of the Lord begins with Ezekial 38;18-20,Revelation 6;14-17,... Isaiah 2;19 and Joel 2, and it continues until the A.O.D. begins.
Then the pressure cranks up when the A.O.D. begins, and that is when the Great Tribulation begins also known as The Great and terrible Day of the lord.
Before Ezekial 38 can come to pass,..a time of normal life must be present such as marrying and giving in marriage and drinking , as in the days of Noah. Ezekial 38 describes Israel dwelling in safety and not expecting an attack, for that matter the world was even surprised that this attack took place as is described in Ezekial 38.

It is the Prophecy aftermath of Isaiah 17;1/Psalms 83 combo that causes Israel to believe she is dwelling safely. Israel will gain more territory from her immediate arab neighbors in keeping with the promise of a certain amount of land promised to Abraham's descendents by the Lord.
So in a nutshell,..Even though technically, the rapture can happen any moment,..it is my opinion that it will occur just slightly prior to Ezekial 38.
The Ancient Jewish wedding as a shadow type, suggests that the Bride will only be in heaven for 7 years and then the lord will return in His physical second return to rule and reign for a thousand years.

Ezekial reveals the Exact day that Israel would become a nation
133306-Ezekiel-s-Prophecy-of-Israel-s-Rebirth-in-1948
So it is believed that the "beginning of the last generation" that would not pass away until all these things came to pass, which includes the A.O.D. and the Second Physical coming of the Lord,Began on May 14 1948.
So the question is asked,.."How long is a generation"?
Psalms 90;10 indicates that it is 70 years but could be as long as 80 years.
But we have sign post's along the way.and the Lord made it clear that the Bride would not be cought by surprise, that we would perceive the general time era of when we would be caught up to meet the Lord in the air(1 Thessalonians 5;4)

It is very obvious today that Isaiah 17;1 could happen any day.
