The exact moment of salvation is tricky, I don't think a person can even say the actual prayer of salvation unless the Holy Spirit gives one utterance, otherwise it would be a work

John 3
3In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.[a (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John%203%20;&version=31;#fen-NIV-26114a)]" 4"How can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born!"5Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. 6Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You[c (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John%203%20;&version=31;#fen-NIV-26118c)] must be born again.' [B]8The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit."
People hear the word, the Spirit chooses whomever He pleases.

REVELATION CHAPTER 3:5 HE THAT OVERCOMETH THE SAME SHALL BE CLOTHED IN WHITE RAIMENT; AND I WILL NOT BLOT HIS NAME OUT OF THE BOOK OF LIFE, BUT I WILL CONFESS HIS NAME BEFORE MY FATHER, AND BEFORE HIS ANGELS.
1 JOHN 4-5 FOR WHATSOEVER IS BORN OF GOD OVERCOMETH THE WORLD, AND THIS IS THE VICTORY THAT OVERCOMETH THE WORLD, EVEN OUR FAITH. WHO IS HE THAT OVERCOMETH THE WORLD, BUT HE THAT BELEIVETH THAT JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD.
this is as clear as it gets, when we have a true salvation experience, he will never blot our name out of the book of life. nobody is perfect on this earth and we all have our faults but if someone says there saved and returns to living continualy in sin, they had better get on there knees and make sure they have a true salvation experience.

That's how I've always understood it. Once we are truly saved, we are saved for eternity. However, we need to be very careful and examine our lives and our hearts. Salvation is not something to be cavalier about.

Once we are truly born again, we are sealed with the Holy Spirit, picture this "sealing" as being similar to a tattoo, you can not peel it off or scratch it off (and lets forget about laser surgery or skin graphs right now...lol), you also cannot walk away from the tattoo and have it just disappear...where you go it goes, just like the Holy Spirit. Sure you can cover your tattoo up (you can quench the Holy Spirit or "put a lid on it" in other words).......temporary tattoos wear off just like salvation that's not based on true faith (in other words it wasn't real) but the real tattoo doesn't wear off and you can't walk away and leave it on the table.
Once saved always saved. Now...you can fall out of fellowship with God but that's not losing your Salvation, if you will.....it's like putting a bandade on your tattoo and pretending it doesn't exist and ignoring that it's there but it still doesn't go away.....neither does the seal of the Holy Spirit.
If someone claims to be born again but you see no "new creature" then they need to look and search their soul because it's very doubtful that they were sincerely saved in the first place.

Good post, Christina. We are sealed...
Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.

Col 1:21 Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation if you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.
What about these verses?
Bible Rules
The Bible is much like a jigsaw puzzle; you may think you understand a passage but later find that your interpretation does not fit with some additional passages you read. With a jigsaw puzzle, when ALL the pieces fit everyone will see the exact same picture.
With the Bible, when ALL scripture blends and agrees, everyone will get the exact same message.
The following are some rules to keep you from going astray when reading the Bible.
1. Never allow what is implied to override what has been clearly stated.
2. ALL Bible truths in both the Old and New Testament must agree.
3. If you do not understand something in the Bible don’t force an interpretation. Wait for either the Holy Sprit to reveal it to you, or to read or hear an interpretation that blends with other Bible truths.
4. If something you believe conflicts with other Bible truths, don’t be afraid to change you mind about that belief.
5. Always be humble and open to receive truth from anyone, but be sure to compare what is stated to Bible truths.
While I am sure this is just a short list of rules you should apply, I sincerely believe that even if you just apply the five rules above you will significantly improve the accuracy of the truth you receive from the Bible.

I have a question for those who believe OSAS:
What is the point of temptation? If you can't lose your salvation, what is the point of th devil tempting you?
This is one of those questions that really doesn't make OSAS feel right with me. :idunno
NOTE: Both sides should come in accordance and believe that the other side is NOT damned to hell. As long as we are saved, we will go to heaven. All in agreement with this, say Amen.
Amen
EDIT: THere was a site of a guy who honestly was saved, feel out, and then came back. I'll try to get it for you guys later

100knight. Whilst we cannot lose our salvation, we can definitely lose our enjoyment of it. Satan will do anything to spoil things for us and to stop us from being an effective witness.

I subscribe to the belief that true born again believers would rather die than ever reject their only way to heaven. therefore if anyone were to denounce Jesus then I doubt they were truly saved because who in their right mind if they truly truly believe Jesus was the only way would give that up?? So i dont buy that any TRUE believer can lose their salvation because any sin that would even endanger them of losing it in which the only one is blaspheming the Holy Spirit they would fall on their knees and repent so I never really understood how any real believer can "lose" something that they would never ever ever give up.
And as far as temptation goes Satan doesnt want you and me out witnessing and saving souls. Eventually i believe every real Christian will come to a state of repentence, but the longer Satan can delay that by constantly getting you to give in to temptation the longer you are ineffective in getting people to accept Christ because if you our giving in to the temptation to get drunk are you witnessing and saving souls? Thats why i think Satan tempts to stop you from being an effective witness for Christ.
