I knew as a wee child that God was real. I didn't understand it until the age of 12. I went astray for many years. But, even though you don't care for TD Jakes... most the time I don't care for his ways of teaching. But, he made sense... he said that before time began .. before the earth was created... before man was formed... we all were in His kingdom. There we heard His voice.... we had to be separated from God... reason for us here today. We heard a voice for a time.. didn't recognize it so we continued on our way. Then we that have been grafted in.. heard His voice and recognized Him as our Father. It really made sense to me!!!! Those that have yet come unto Him... have not recognized His voice... and many will not recognize Him because they are so wrapped up in the world they can't
I bless God for saving you! He saves irrespective of theology, even if your understanding isnt wholly Biblical; just so long as you "repent" and "trust" in Jesus and you prove you calling and election by continuing to "repent" and "trust" in Jesus till death.
TD scares me. I lump him with Benny Hinn, Creflo, and ALL the other WOF people. Hey, I wrote a blog about them. Its really short, u can check it out here: "Im selling Blessings!" (http://alltheworldis.blogspot.com/2007/05/im-selling-blessings.html)

Oh, I'm all grown up now and I'm not living in that area anymore. :)
Yes understand, but if you are really seeking to find the scriptures it wouldn't hurt to contact them and ask... your question would be resolved then. It could have been just like TD Jakes on what I gave you all.. he might have just come up with that.. even though he did use scripture.

I agree with you. In my human reasoning I would say that some people are of a stronger will and more interlectually gifted (since they would make the right choice over others), and are more righteousness or not as "dead in sins" as the rest. That's what I would assume and say if I didnt have a bible. But since I do, I read that God saves some to display his grace (Eph 1:6). He has done this by freeing "the many" from their bondage to sin, and thus, "they offer themselves freely in the day of God's power" (Psa 110:3). Note, there is no forcing on God's part, "his people offer themselves freely." Also note when it is done..."in the day of his power." When is that? It is when God is pleased to change a person's nature when they hear of the gospel. The gospel is the means by which God uses to bring about his end in salvation. No one is saved irrespective of the gospel. In fact, they need to "hear" and "believe" for them to be saved. That means we must "go witness." Paul speaks about this in Romans 10.
When someone is dying of thirst and they are offered a glass of pure water they take it!
My human reasoning makes sense but it cannot be supported by scripture. I may be able to take a verse or two and take them out of context to try to prove my theory and I may be able to fool some people. Doctrines are not made out of 2 or 3 verses standing alone. :nod

I meant All of what the Bible says. Some topics are for the mature, therefore not all will understand. For instance, I pray for grace to understand topics like eschotology (end times study). I thought I did 4 years ago when I came into the faith, but now I realize that I don't know anything about the subject.
I was a lot smarter back then!
