Hi!
I think I finally got the unforgivable sin through my noggin. The people who go to hell are the ones that right up to death, either do not repent or do not believe. (Right?)
So what is the anti -OSAS argument?
Just curious. :)
Thanks!
BearMom
Right. I personally believe in OSAS, but I guess the "anti" argument would be that a person can lose their salvation through sinful actions:idunno.
Jesus Christ is the Author and Perfector of our faith-salvation-, so I cannot believe that there is anything a saved person can do to "lose" their salvation .

First we must both understand that there are alot of false converts out there claiming to be saved and they are not. We know them by their fruits. I was saved in 1994, but I didn't surrender my life to God until 2002. I sinned inbetween then and I sin now. That never took away my salvation. I was only born once in the flesh, and I am only born again once in the spirit.
Here is my question to you who don't believe in OSAS. Where do you draw the line? I mean, if our sin can take away our salvation, which sin would do that? Is it lying, stealing? Would stealing make us lose our salvation or just lying? No one has ever been able to answer this for me. There MUST be a line, If all sin is the same, then it would be ANY sin would take our salvation away right?
So that means that ALL of us, maybe even today, are going to hell?:doh
Thoughts?
:heh I agree with you, GEL!

The line in my opinion is this. Salvation is by Faith and faith alone in Jesus Christ along with repentence. If you were truly saved once but now you dont believe and you surely wont repent.God will give you what you want. God will forgive you of your sins , but you have to want him to. He is not going to force himself on you, like well ,I know you dont want me know, but you did 20 years ago so your coming to heaven anyway! Its called free will, he gives us what we want. I am in no means saying well, 364 sins you were saved, but the 365th sin is the one that loses your salvation, NO. I would hate to stand before the uncreated one, while he says YOU told so and so no matter what they did they were saved, now they are lost. He is a God of joy, love, peave, FORGIVENESS, mercy and grace, but he is also a God of wrath. He is a consuming fire.
I accepted Christ as a child and lived for him along time, as I got older I lived for the world and wanted nothing to do with God. I respected him, I believed in him, but the Bible says that the devils BELIEVE and they tremble. In my heart of hearts. I knew I was going to hell less I repented and turn from my wicked ways. I loved my sin at the time. If I was saved the whole time I didnt need to change. I was still on my way to heaven!! :scratch

No. The arguement is that once you're saved, you don't lose your free will. There are people who CHOOSE to leave God behind. They completely turn their backs on Him.
Sam Kinison was one of these. He had been a preacher before becoming the nasty famous comedian we knew.
I don't believe any typical sin can separate you from the love of God, after salvation...but If you turn your back & walk away, and die before you reconcile, do you still go to heaven?
It was you, not God who chose to sever the relationship. This is why I believe the OSAS teaching to be false.

I believe Sam Kinison is in heaven. I believe he was taken home early because of his bad witness of Christ. When we are saved, we are sealed by God's Holy Spirit for redemption. NOTHING can remove that seal- praise the Lord:thumb!!

But this always raises a key question, So if you really accept Jesus in complete faith and a sin goes unconfessed, you are damned for eternity?
If this argument is true, when have you crossed that line.
I don't think God wants a life lived in uncertainty.

:nod Absolutely!! That is why His Holy Spirit is the "down payment" on our redemption!! :yeah Christians can rejoice because their names are written in Heaven!

2 Corinthians 5:10
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

¶ Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
2Ti 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called [us] with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
2Ti 1:10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
2Ti 1:11 Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.
2Ti 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
