Just curious if there is anyone out there that enjoys musclecars and likes to build them? Anyone frequent the tech forums such as pro-touring.com or nastyZ28.com or others? Sometimes it feels like there isnt anyone out there who enjoys this stuff like I do, who also enjoys learning about Jesus. I dont want to give up my love of cars but its difficult finding car-friends who I can relate to on a level other than cars.

Just wondering...

I've always loved muscle cars. The only one I've owned was a '71 Firebird with a 350. That was 100% stock and original. It needed to be restored but it was a nice car. I had to sell it years back because I needed a truck for work. I bought an old Ford after that with a 300 I-6. What a drag to drive compared to the Firebird. Now I have my toy. It's the one in my avatar. It's not a muscle car but it is a loud V-8. '01 Ram 4x4 w/360. I did a few small things to it so far including flashing it with a Hypertech performance program & slapping on a glass pack muffler. More mods to come as money allows. I'm a member of www.dodgetalk.com There are a few brothers on that site. I just got one of them to sign up in here. We became friends in the political forum (when there was one). I'll talk cars anytime you want.

Edit: Lets make this thread more fun. Lets see your pics of your toys. You got one Psalm 143? I love looking at sharp cars and trucks. I'll guess I'll start with mine. And here's a clip of what it sounds like. http://media.putfile.com/My-Exhaust-49 Please be patent Putfile can be slow.

Hey LoudRam! Nice truck! Sounds awesome too. I love the water spittin at you during the video! :)

I would love to have a cummins diesel! A friend has one and that thing is surprisingly powerful and fast. Especially for a full size 4 door 4x4!

I really like the early second generation firebird like you had. A guy here in town has a really nice one with the formula hood and t-tops. I dont think that was an option in those years but I dont know.

Me? I've got too many cars! My poor wife. She is so nice to let me play with these toys. I have three that run and two that are waiting for a restoration. Running are my 68 Camaro RS, 66 Chevelle, and 72 Monte Carlo. The 68 is going up for sale as soon as I can get a couple of bugs worked out.Waiting their turn (gonna be a while) is a 71 Camaro and a 82 Mustang GT. Its my high school car so its worth too much sentimentally to ever sell. I love cars.

Tomorrow is a big show in town and I am taking my 66. It is my favorite. I just finished cleaning it up. Its hard to keep them clean if you drive them!

Thanks for posting. Look forward to hearing more from you!

You do have some beautiful toys. I love 'em. I'm big into Dodges but I always liked Chevy's & Pontie's too. My friend had a '67 Camaro RS in high school. It had a worked 327. That thing was nice. I had a '72 Nova back in high school. Keystone classic rims, Hi-Jackers air shocks. It was jacked up in the back and it looked fast. It had a 250 I-6. :doh Not really a muscle car.

About keeping it clean...it's a labor of love. You can't just let them sit there. You have to drive them. And every now and then leave a little rubber on the road. :cool

I drive a 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC. It's got a 4.6L DOC aluminum block V8 that puts out about 300 HP at the crank. A Mark VIII doesn't fit the standard definition of a muscle car, but I know a bunch of people who drag them. They're pretty fast with a few simple mods. They're also very nice touring cars.

I know my way somewhat around a car (replaced some engines and transmissions and hopped a few up), but don't think I qualify as a builder by any stretch of the imagination.

Same here. I started working on my cars because I can't afford to have others work on them. And I like turning wrenches. There's just something about doing the work yourself. If I wasn't an electrician I'd be a mech.

I scan Gateway Classic Cars, and windowshop.

I have a '77 Chevy Silverado with a transplanted 350, that I just got before Christmas.

I was in at the body shop today, and they are working on a '76 Ford Torino, identical with the Starsky and Hutch one.

I have a 1968 Mustang that I restored myself and I also have a 1986 Mustang GT convertible that I am in the process of restoring. I like restoring the cars back to original condition (concours) and showing them, and love taking cruises! Nothing like the sound of a well tuned V8!
