I very surprised to see Joyce Meyer on this list of people on the website http://www.watchman.org/ if you click on her name you can see that she has stated such things as we are "littls gods" and etc.

Also, thousands of people go to Benny Hinn crusades, and I just wanted to tell my fellow brothers and sisters that they need to STAY AWAY from him. He is nothing but a crook and a thief. What he does in God's holy name is shameful, I wouldn't want to be him when I die. He has a lot of explaining to do that's for sure.

But anyway, there are many more I'm sure, but I was surprised to see that they actually sold Joyce Meyers books in my local christian bookstore :doh I was so upset!

So anyway, Stay away from the ravenous wolves in sheeps clothing, they're dangerous. And if you think you might know someone who doesn't teach the word of God, but yet calls themselves 'Christian'. You should first pray for them, and just stick to your bible. I pray for all who are being mislead and don't even know it.

May God bless you my brothers and sisters, Cj. :wave

The pastor at my old church made that same statement to me one time. That we were Gods. I started to become skeptical. It also could have been when he carelessly said something about "as long as they show me the money". I knew then I was at the wrong church. He also took interest in only those who gave money in large sums. He even wanted me to call and let him know why I was missing a church service.

I agree that there are many wolves in sheeps clothing. I think we should call them out when we see them.

Since you mentioned Joyce Meyers I want to make a comment. I don't really know her, but I do know a couple people that like her. I read a criticism of her and felt it really didn't amount to anything. I remember part of it being that she said we are little gods. Now, I don't even know in what context she said that, and what she uses to support that. I can think of somethings though; for one we are made in the image of God, and also, we will be like Christ when we see Him. So I'm thinking maybe she is not off base at all. Is there any other complaints about Joyce?

Oh and here is the link that she claims humans are "little gods"

Note, that Mormons believe this.

Joyce Meyers is part of the Word of Faith movement. Go to http://www.deceptioninthechurch.com/search8.html and search Joyce Meyers

Also, as for those who are being deceived 2 Thes 2:10

10and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.

Thank you.

What I saw does disturb me. It seems to me she is making up theology and calling it Biblical. I wonder if that is typical of what she teaches or just some rare oddball idea of hers.

You are welcome. From that site, as you can see, you can search most of the main apologetics websites on the net. There are many more if you need more of them - just PM me and I can provide many more sites to research teachers and teachings to see if they are in the faith or deceivers.

Here are a few more:

http://www.moriel.org/articles/discernment/church_issues/four_current_movements_in_church.htm
http://www.contenderministries.org/articles/uu.php

This one is a great research for basics in apologetics site:
