Love and Light??????

What is that about? Love and light. I have a friend and she is always wishing me love and light. I always feel kinda weird about that and really dont know what to say to her. She tells me stuff that sounds new agey, and she has talked about her group a few times. Dont remember exactly what she said, cuz I am so dumbfounded when she leaves or our conversation ends. She is trying to be polite and uplifting, so it makes it very hard to question her about this at the time of our conversations. It feels as strange as if someone just wished me good karma.

Years ago a man came to speak at our church. What church is this? Forgive me for my lousy memory, but I cannot recall which indigenous tribe or belief system he taught. What I remember is that he had an amazingly calm and soothing presence and that he ran us through a chanting meditation that had the entire room spell bound with love and healing energy. Yikes!!! New Age??

Well the third site I checked, had a scoll on the main page saying "You are now recieving a Reiki healing" :doh I tried to click away, but wasn't fast enough. I got that Reiki stuff all over my good shirt!

So, seems to be the latest catch phrase for new age, feel good, self help, mumbo gumbo.

So here's Love to ya, and make mine a light, I'm trying to drop a little weight.

I have been around a lot of new agers and this is what it sounds like to me.
I would try to talk to her and witness to her. She needs to get out of that mess and get saved.

So my feelings about it have hit home. That small wee voice. I should have opportunity to talk to her here soon. In this next month, we should have several times we can talk. Pray that I have the right words and pray that she will listen with her heart, whether she shows it outwardly or not.

Yes, love and light is a new age statement, it basically means love and "enlightenment". The new agers believe that the age of "enlightenment" is coming. There is a liberal new-agey group that posts on a secular board and that is their "sign off", that and "namaste" which has become a common gesture/saying with new agers too that acknowledges the "god in the other person"...the old "we are all gods" concept. I agree, it was the Holy Spirit that was speaking to you.

Wow, sounds like my two cousins! They talk like that, about love and light and energy and how we are all god and they are into psychics and etc. But yet, they are both open to christianity. I have tried to talk to them, the one cousin is open to my conversation and she will listen, but not agree on everything I say. The other cousin, whom I used to be closer to doesn't really call me much anymore, I've let her know that I love her, but I don't approve of her wanting to "talk to the dead" and etc. I'm trying to keep some sort of relationship with both of them, in case someday they "see the light" (excuse the pun, lol) and call me and ask questions and etc.
