I used to watch MASH all the time. One episode, the Hawkeye character summed it up perfectly. He said he cracked jokes all the time because if he didn't stop laughing he would start screaming, and if he let himself start screaming he'd never stop. Its a lot better, I mean thousands of times better since I've been in Christ, but even so, sometimes I get so lost for a while that my prayers get too -- solem? -- too negative?... The outlet to get completely daffy takes that pressure off somewhat until I get stabilized, and I am certain the Lord understands that. I sometimes wonder what kind of jokes Jesus Christ cracked at the occasional party the Gospels freely admit He turned up at...

I think, then that we should be a little careful with quite what we permit ourselves to repeat, but that being said, as long as we don't drift into darkness in our efforts to keep a thread like this going, that we're within the bounds of that precious Light, yet blowing off steam so we can stand up and face more of the genuine madness that we're confronted with as the world around us slides further and further into depravity every day it seems recently...
