What a great thread! :thumb I don't have kids, but I try to pack DH and I a lunch as often as I can. I tire of Lean Cuisine day after day. :ohno

I just thought of something else that I do....

I either buy or make cake/cookies ect. and slice them up, bag them and put them in the freezer so all I have to do is grab one when I am packing lunch.

Wow! I really like the freezing the sandwiches idea! Do you think it would work the same with homemade turkey? Those sandwich meats have so much nitrates etc. in them...I've been thinking about roasting a chicken or small turkey once every two weeks for sandwich makings.

What a neat idea for the corn dog......I'm going to try that.

Speaking of freezing, has anyone frozen whole apples off of their apple tree at home and then been able to thaw them out to eat like normal.......or do they just turn mushy like tomatoes?
