Ok....am I putting this together right.
An earlier link says the wave is traveling about 800 miles an hour
This is saying its about 100-130 feet high when it gets to shore.
If this is true........Katie bar da door. Its gonna be bad.:shocked

I have been watching CNN as soon as I heard about this happening. I believe the tsunami heights so far are just speculations, at least until they hit land masses, no one will know for sure. I don't really believe anyone knows for sure or exactly... I think thats all they can really do, is just speculate. Guess time will tell. But I pray that there aren't many more deaths. Seems to me things are just starting to escalate, hold on to your hats folks, the birth pangs are intensifying and increasing. :preach

:wave Perhaps I got this wrong but I was responding to the post 96 & 98 where it did come on one of the island groups. The heights were, I believe, based on police reports of the island chain it hit. Of course, it is not high in the deep water, only when it comes in on the shallower shores and then on land that it grows. The speed I got from an earlier government link showing where the watches were posted at, the distance away, expected time of arrival and speed. :hat

killing at least 78 people, collapsing buildings and setting off a tsunami.
A huge wave reached a populated area in the Robinson Crusoe Islands, 410 miles (660 kilometers) off the Chilean coast, said President Michele Bachelet.
Tsunami warnings were issued over a wide area, including South America, Hawaii, Australia and New Zealand, Japan, the Philippines, Russia and many Pacific islands.

Don't take me wrong,:lol2 I wasn't disputing anything you said. What I was referencing to was the guys on CNN each giving their own idea of how high the waves would be. Each time they interview a new guy and he gives his estimate it seems its a different height. Thats why I said I believe they are all just speculating, until it hits land they won't know for sure. :hug
