Awesome! Thanks for posting these......What is so scary is that the movement is not stopping. These are not regular little after-shocks, if that were here in CA, this state would have crumbled. I have felt quakes in the 4-5 range, and you can feel it and see the things shake....

I pray that we won't see another big one but know that GOD has warned us to Repent and turn to him. The United States and Mexico need to come back to Jesus and live a pleasing life to Him. I know that I have Jesus as my Lord and Savior, but when I examine my life, I see that I have a great deal in my life that needs to be removed, and then let GOD lead me to where HE would have me to be.

That is such an honest admission, and when we can see inside and know what needs correction, then the Holy Spirit can work in us.....very humbling. :hug

But I really think with regard to the quakes, they are going to continue because that is what the Bible says about these last days. God will have pity and mercy on whom he chooses-- believers and non-believers. Rich and Poor nations. I also don't think the U.S. will drastically change it's ways, but on an individual basis, it is never too late to give your life to Christ! And so, I agree with everyone here, that this...just like Haiti....just like all major disasters should be a wake up call.

There is another thread that asks if "Jesus will give us a heads-up?"....well, I'm now thinking as many posted, he has...he is......

Fox News (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,587588,00.html)

Hawaiian authorities sounded sirens Saturday morning to alert residents to evacuate coastal areas ahead of a potential tsunami generated by a major earthquake that hit Chile.

The sirens sounded through the pre-dawn dark on all Hawaii's islands at 6 a.m. (11 a.m. ET), alerting people in coastal areas of the need to retreat to higher ground.

Waikiki's world-famous beaches were empty and tourists gathered in small groups on sidewalks. They will be evacuated to the third floor and above of hotels when the tsunami is projected to arrive around 11:19 a.m. (4:19 p.m. ET).

People in other coastal areas will be evacuated inland.

Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann told Fox News that officials are providing evacuation buses to transport residents and tourists to higher grounds.

He also said that lifeguards are currently working to clear out the beaches.

The city's beaches and harbors have been ordered closed, KHON2.com reported.

"We train for these things year round, we know all the steps we need to take," Hannemann told Fox News.

For the most part, Waikiki remained quiet except for those in cars driving to safer ground.

Hilo International Airport shut down, while all other state airports planned to remain open, KHON2.com reported.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued a tsunami warning — its highest alert — for Hawaii, where incoming waves could cause damage along the coastlines across the island chain. A warning was also in effect for Guam, American Samoa and dozens of other Pacific islands.

Oahu Civil Defense officials have posted an evacuation zone map on their Web site and say the evacuation zones can also be found on the white pages in phone books.

Even before daybreak, lines formed at supermarkets with residents stocking up on water, canned food and batteries. Cars lined up 15 deep at several gas stations.

"Even a small tsunami is a hazard because of its really strong currents," said Dr. Charles McCreery, director of the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.

"So there is no reason why anyone should be in harms way when this tsunami comes on shore. We should take this seriously."

McCreery said he didn't know how big the waves will be, but he expected them to be the largest to hit Hawaii since 1964.

The state Department of Transportation has recommended that all ships move out of port Saturday morning following the planned 6 a.m. tsunami warning, HonoluluAdvertiser.com reported.

A cruise ship was expected to dock at Honolulu Harbor for refueling and then was going to head back out Saturday morning, DOT spokeswoman Tammy Mori said, according to HonoluluAdvertiser.com.

The Coast Guard in Hawaii is working with state, local and federal departments to help prepare for a tsunami.

The Captain of the Port has issued a verbal order that no vessels are allowed to enter the port of Honolulu and he has asked all large vessels currently in the port to leave, Chief Petty Officer Chad Saylor, a Coast Guard spokesman, told FoxNews.com.

Fox News has learned that the military has not been asked to report for duty. They remain on standby, monitoring any potential tsunami.

Meantime, a tsunami advisory has been extended to include the states of Oregon and Washington and parts of Alaska, as well as coastal British Colombia.

The Pacific Tsunami center had earlier included the coast of Californa and some Alaskan islands in its advisory after a tsunami was generated by a powerful earthquake off Chile.

An advisory is the lowest level alert. The West Coast Alaska Tsunami Warning Center says that a tsunami advisory means there is a possibility of strong localized currents but no significant inundation is expected.

also alerts for California and Alaska

Yahoo News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100227/ap_on_re_us/us_quake_tsunami_alerts)

EWA BEACH, Hawaii – Hawaii braced Saturday for a potentially damaging tsunami, after a massive earthquake off Chile sent waves across the Pacific Ocean.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued a tsunami warning — its highest alert — for Hawaii, where incoming waves could cause damage along the coastlines across the island chain. A warning was also in effect for Guam, American Samoa and dozens of other Pacific islands.

The first waves were expected to arrive in Hawaii at 11:19 a.m. Saturday (4:19 p.m. EST).

A lower-grade tsunami advisory was in effect for the coast of California and an Alaskan coastal area from Kodiak to Attu islands. Authorities in Australia did not issue a warning, but asked residents to stay away from the coast.

The Ewa Beach, Hawaii-based center called for "urgent action to protect lives and property" in Hawaii, which is among 53 nations and territories subject to tsunami warnings.

"The main thing is we want everyone to take this event seriously," said Charles McCreery, director of the center.

McCreery said he didn't know how big the waves will be, but he expected them to be the largest to hit Hawaii since 1964.

The state planned to sound warning sirens statewide at 6 a.m. to alert residents and tourists of the incoming tsunami, said Shelly Ichishita, spokeswoman for state civil defense.

People in coastal areas, such as tourist-filled Waikiki, will then be instructed on a possible evacuation. The sirens will also be sounded again three hours prior to the estimated arrival time.

"If you're in an evacuation zone, police or civil defense volunteers would instruct you to evacuate, or instructions will come out over the radio and TV," she said.

If coastal areas are evacuated, visitors in Waikiki would be moved to higher floors in their hotels, rather than moved out of the tourist district, which could cause gridlock.

Ichishita said people who are not in evacuation zones to stay away from coastal areas.

Despite the incoming waves, the state was calm through the night with no signs of panic.

"We've got a lot of things going for us," McCreery said. "We have a reasonable lead time. The evacuation should all take place during daylight hours, and wave impact should be during daylight hours.

"We should be able to alert everyone in harm's way to move out of the evacuation zones."

Barry Hirschon, also of the Tsunami center, said the advisory for the California coast and parts of Alaska was the agency's lowest level alert.

"It's a heads up that there's been a tsunami event and it could affect the coasts later," Hirschon told CNN. "I don't think it will be updated to a warning."

The largest earthquake ever recorded struck the same area of Chile in 1960. The deadly wave that it caused raced across the Pacific and hit the Hilo area of the Big Island, where 61 people were killed.
