There have been three quakes above 6.0 (6.0 - 6.7 - 6.9) in just under a half hour. So much for the area quieting down.

I will post a full update on the chilean quake thread (http://rr-bb.com/showthread.php?128474-8.8-Magnitude-Quake-Hits-Chile-*Merged*/page11) when I have it.

MAP 6.0 2010/03/11 15:06:04 -34.218 -71.889 32.0 LIBERTADOR O'HIGGINS, CHILE
MAP 6.7 2010/03/11 14:55:30 -34.263 -71.782 35.0 LIBERTADOR O'HIGGINS, CHILE
MAP 6.9 2010/03/11 14:39:48 -34.251 -71.889 35.0 LIBERTADOR O'HIGGINS, CHILE

This is from another monitoring site. It looks like the first new quake was actually a 7.2.

Yikes Yogi....you do got a way of making this stuff come alive and fitting the relevance in a whole bunch better than the never ending black list of data.

Thank you again. :hug

I am moving my updates to this thread since it is addressing the new activity. As you can easily see, the Chilean region, especially in one area of the central coast, has gotten very active and some of the so called aftershocks were strong enough to cause new damage to buildings and infrastructure.

This chart shows the three biggest quakes as (6.9 - 6.7 - 6.0) but another chart listing shows them at (7.2 - 6.9 - 6.0). I don't know which one is the most accurate or recently updated but they are still big enough to cause concern.

I am adding one more bit of color; I am going to color code the magnitudes too. See the chart below for the colors

Interesting, but I don't know that it is anything more than coincidence. But the Palestinian connection could also be that the land they settled in in Chile was cheaper and more available because of the quake prone nature of the area.

Straight line drawn from D.C. to site of Chilean EQ. Also, the areas this quake's aftershocks have occured have all been in an area with the largest population of Palestinians outside the Middle East. Probably doesn't mean anything.

I am still doing the color coded daily updates but they have been moved to the newer thread on Chile located HERE (http://rr-bb.com/showthread.php?129818-7.2-Magnitude-Aftershock-in-Chile-3-11-10)
