8.8 - Magnitude Quake Hits Chile *Merged*

While the USGS is currently reporting 3 quakes in Chile, I have 3 other tracking sites reporting close to a dozen. The aftershocks are very intense.

Oh my, those seem like additional quakes and not after-shocks....so strong...wow.

Well kids I'm off to bed. If a wave is on it's way, it's going to be another 16 hours or so before it reaches here, although I'm still pretty sure it will be fine.

BREAKING NEWS — A massive 8.8-magnitude earthquake capable of tremendous damage struck central Chile early Saturday, shaking the capital for a minute and half and setting off a tsunami. Buildings collapsed and phone lines and electricity were down, making the extent of the damage difficult to determine.
