I got a call from my wife tonite to meet her at the emergency room. Our 3 year old daughter had fallen and and hit her head really really hard at a playground and was bleeding.

I raced through the city my heart aching to comfort my child. As I went into the ER I through the din of the ER comotion could hear only the voice of my child crying for her daddy. As I walked into the er exam room she saw me and reached for me. My wife said she had been calling for her daddy. I cradled her in my arms and could feel her pulling comfort and strength from me. She was wounded, afraid and in a storm that was beyond her control. She looked to me to calm the storm, comfort her fear, and be by her side. She eventually fell asleep in my arms saying daddy.

Oh how He must care for us when we call on His name. How He must comfort us and love us. How God used this moment to show me how tender His love is for me.

Praising Him that your daughter will be ok, and thank you for the beautiful post. Lifted me right up. Some days we need to know we can crawl up into our Father's lap. :hug

I can't count the number of times he's done that kind of thing with my kids to open my eyes to something. (many different circumstances)

Hope she's ok.

Thank you for sharing that, stonewallfan. It's so sweet to be able to feel His strong arms holding us. Just to take comfort in His nearness. What an awesome, wonderful "Daddy" He is to us!

Stonewallfan, :heythere

AMEN! This image of our Lord becomes so much move vivid once we have children. It is a beautiful way to imagine Yeshua when He hears our voice cry out in anguish at the loss of a loved one or upon receiving a frightening diagnosis.

Can't you just envision Yeshua as He rises off His Throne to focus just upon us, in our little corner of the world - everything else is silent for just that nanosecond - as He condescends to whisper a word of comfort to our Spirit?

What a compassionate, loving and tender Father we have in heaven. May everyone we witness to have the privilege of knowing the Agape Love that makes life worth living! Glad your dd is okay. (They sure can cause us to grow a few grey hairs, can't they?)

Shalom in Christ
