Poor beef farmers...what are they are going to do to offset their emmissions? Maybe we should become vegans like PETA says. :pound

Cows emit 18% of the worlds CO2 emissions, all transportation vehicles IN THE WORLD COMBINED (cars, planes, trucks, etc) account for only 3%...so IF the global warmining people really looked at facts...their debate would be with PETA. ;)

I wonder how many CO2 emmissions the EU expells everytime one of their members speaks!:hehee IMO they and the UN could greatly reduce Co2 levels if they would just cease speaking.:willie

I read this recently-reminds me of the story of the guy in New England dressing in a lobster suit to protest animal cruelty to lobsters-poor man was beat up by lobster fisherman. Same type of ludicrous thinking. I'm more concerned with the hormones and things injected into cows now. Anyone noticed the accelerated rate of puberty among young people now? Many 13 year old girls looks like adults. Insidious 'hormone growth'? Something to ponder.

:thumbup I have 4 children, aged 27 years to 11 years..my older children were skelletons with skin draped on them...they could eat anything and we never worried about "what" we ate. Now, my youngest is very heavy and we have done more with buying non-fat milk, yogurt, NOT buying cookies and chips with him than we EVER did with my older kids. The food supply is so contaminated with antibiotics, hormones and chemicals and that is why we see so many auto immune diseases today, and weight issues with our young people, things unheard of in the past. IMHO

I don't see how becoming a vegeterian is going to cut down on the cows parping. You don't eat the cows, then there are more cows to parp. Of course the arguement could be that ranchers wouldn't be raising cattle, which of course is not true. we still need the milk and milk products. Also if we did go vegan immediately what do we do with the excess bulls? Would PETA allow us to kill them? Probably not and look what a mess it is in India with the bovine population running unchecked.:bovine
