--they really must have nothing else to do in Europe.
BARMY Euro MPs are demanding new laws to stop cows and sheep PARPING.
Their call came after the UN said livestock emissions were a bigger threat to the planet than transport.
The UN says livestock farming generates 18 per cent of greenhouse gases while transport accounts for 14 per cent.
I'm surprised no one has ever mentioned human 'emisions.' There are far more humans in the EU than cattle. We release vast amounts of methane as well as breathing out almost pure CO2.

Actually cattle are much worse than humans. Four stomachs, and at least two of them are 'fermenting' grasses all the time...
What about beer manufacturers? :aha :zipit
Guess your gonna have to be a non-drinking, vegatarian Mr. Mann!

I'm a non-drinking vegetarian, CitySearcher!:thumbup But I wish that the UN and everybody else would stop picking on our bovine friends.

Me too! But I have to ask you though, what exactly is your beef?
:doh!
Sorry, bad pun....I've been thinking about adding a few bovine to the farm, considering where things have been heading lately. I probably would go for the dairy aspect more than the meat though. I tend to not eat much red meat or pork, but it's nice to know that God can provide them as nourishment to many in times of need or want. I have never hunted before, but I do have means to capture/kill deer, moose, geese, rabbits, bears, etc on my land if times were to go downhill. We got out of raising animals, and switched to vegtables, fruits and grains over the last 20 years, but we are leaning more towards bringing back the fowl, cattle and swine.
As far as drinking goes, I have never posted my thoughts on that, maybe another time... I will say however, that having a small brewery on your property can be a life saver under certain conditions. Brewing cannot only yield nurishment in bad times, but it can be a source of fuel to produce all sorts of energy needs. That combined with solar & wind power can make a homestead rather independent of energy suppliers. But then, you would be increasing your "carbon footprint" by manufacturing fuel sources! :gaah :pound I'll never learn! Bad, bad City!....
God bless you. -CS

Cows emit 18% of the worlds CO2 emissions, all transportation vehicles IN THE WORLD COMBINED (cars, planes, trucks, etc) account for only 3%...so IF the global warmining people really looked at facts...their debate would be with PETA. ;)
