4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

Now sometimes this installs very much fear in me, because when I was younger all I did was merely say the sinner's prayer, having no understanding against the law I transgressed and the punishment for it. Thank God I listened to Ray Comforts Hell's best kept secret, and true false conversion.

Regardless here is my friends viewpoint on the scripture.

"As is often the case, the Greek is more descriptive and more strict in its meaning than in English. The word translated "fall away" is only used here and nowhere else in the New Testament. It means “apostatize from,” and implies an entire renunciation of Christianity, or a going back to a state of Judaism, paganism, or sin.
Now lets stop. Is anything impossible with God?? Surely not... so what does this mean, "For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened." How can it therefore be impossible? Well, it must not be speaking of God. Who then?
The text was written to the church. If we have a believer (this was book was written to the converted Jews) and he turns from Christianity after having received of the Lord all divine Truth and experienced the Holy Spirit as a testimony within himself, back to Judaism, he has given his assent that Christ should have been crucified (seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh). He has agreed that the Truth within Christianity is false, so there remains no other options for the redemption of this person. This apostasy is a true turn of heart and requires hardening of ones heart in the direct face of the Holy Spirit. It isn't impossible for God, but God has already given them all he has and they have trampled it underfoot. So who is it impossible for? Themselves. It is impossible to renew them to repentance, for they have agreed within themselves that Christianity is false."

This scripture, Heb 6:4-6 is addressed to UNBELIEVERS. They had been "exposed" to the gospel (the message of Jesus' death on the cross for the sinner) and possibly even "said" they believed it but there was no true repentence and they did not ask Jesus to be their Lord and Savior. (see chapter 10:26--same thing!) Hearing the gospel but NOT believing the TRUTH of the message. They were called "Christians" but were apostate ones. (we have soo many of t hese around in churches today!)
Eternally secure is the believer who has come as a sinner, asking forgiveness from Jesus, who shed His blood for our sins and given us eternal life.(1 Pet. 1:4-5, Rms. 8:35-39, John 10:27-29, Phil 1:6)

Why does it refer to putting Jesus back on the cross again for a second time? Im not certain how that fits in with addressing the nonbelievers or the "Christians"

They deny Jesus' completed and finished work for themselves by never fully partaking His work internally to the point of cleansing their souls.
They flirt with salvation, mentally assessing it but never allowing it to penetrate their soul.
They are the easy believers and religious worshipers, proclaiming Jesus with their lips and rituals but denying Him with their lives and spirit, making a mockery of the crucifixion.
