:ohno Alright. We need to talk ladies.
We need to talk about those nasty yellow stains under the armpits of cotton shirts that I am SURE have attacked your house and mine.
How do I get rid of them?
Also, I have read that some of these deodants actually cause the stains. Is this true? Something about the aluminum in them. So, lets talk, about our pits and our aaahem husbands pits :faint
Thanks

They actually make stick-on armpit pads for men who have this problem. I don't think it is the deodant because my husband have sweaty hair, and he leave yellow stains on pillows. (but then again, it could be his shampoo combined with sweat)
Yellow stains is why they invented t-shirts.

I have heard that if you put lemon juice on the stain, and lay the garment out in the sun, the stain will disappear. Never had this problem, but it would be worth a try. Also, have you ever tried Oxy-Clean in your laundry? It won't hurt, even if it doesn't help.

The sun and lemon juice will get any stain out! I used that method to get my cloth diapers clean all the time.

I've never had the problem, but I don't use deodorant like most people. I use The Crystal and then a hand full of baby powder and I have no sweat and no smell! I even cleaned out my car today in the 90 degree heat and don't smell!

I tried crystal and it didn't work for me. We both used to have horrible problems staining our shirts, but then we switched to a deoderant that doesn't have aluminum in it and there is virtually no staining now. We used to get stains so bad that even bleach would not take out. We have had to throw away alot of good clothing, but I will try that yellow out stuff if needed in the future

Oh I feel your pain!! I sweat like a stinky male teenager (but Im female). I used to stink within a half hour of showering, even while wearing regular over the counter deoderant!! It was rediculous! I tried certain dri too but ended up trashing it after a week or it not working. Besides at this time I also had a huge lump (grew rapidly to 6cm before surgery to remove it) right by one of my armpits on my breast and I vowed to never use deoderant with aluminum again. I tried the unscented deoderant from http://oyinhandmade.com/oyin/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2&products_id=7 and it worked sooooo well. I can finally say I don't stink anymore and no more shirt staining! I also dont have to worry about the ingredients anymore either. I highly recommend this stuff!! Its pretty cheap too because it lasts a loooongggg time!

Hope it's OK for a guy to post here!!! Just thought I could help out... :)
When I was a very young man, about 22, I used to have this problem because I'd wear white shirts w/ suits for work. Here's what worked:
- Lemon Juice - as the other readers said. I don't know that the sun had a part in it, but it seems by other comments it did. I used to hang my laundry on the line back then.
- Vinegar - I used white vinegar, the cheapest stuff. Worked great. Works great for about 100 other things around the home too, by the way.
From what I have heard both lemon juice and vinegar have such high acid content that they do the job.
Do NOT overbleach with chlorine bleach. I did that once and it bleached the white out of my white garments. Apparently, white clothes are dyed white, because naturally they have a slight yellowish tinge, and when you overbleach it can leave your whites looking dingy and yellowish.
One last thing. I don't have the problem with yellow pit stains anymore. When I was still very young, about 24, I heard that anti-perspirants are bad for you because they stop your natural sweating and can make you sweat more, so they have a reverse effect. I switched to deodorant without anti-perspirant and ever since I don't even really sweat under my arms. I never ever have this problem and haven't since I switched over. So that's something you may want to consider.
Hope that helped you! :)
