Am I the only RR Ranger noticing this or what!? I've noticed that Texas is getting hammered alot lately by lousy weather that causes flooding, and most recently--it was reported on FoxNews that Dallas was thrown into the dark by a freak lightning strike. Such as being supernaturally caused? I'm wondering if perhaps since Texas is GWB's homestate, its disasterous weather and the freak electrical strike could be related to the 2-State Israeli-Palestinian State solution? :scratch

We were in the dark? Huh I must have missed that. I know that certain areas had some power losses, but not the entire area. Keep in mind that Texas has been suffering drougt conditions for quite a while so it seems fitting that we'd eventually get hammered with some much needed rain. I don't know about you guys but I count all this rain as a blessing and an answer to prayers.
Now only if people would remember how to drive in the rain and not do stupid things like drive through water where they can't see the bottom we'd be set. I'd almost swear that people are actually competing to be Darwin Award recipients.

I seriously doubt that we "lost power" due to the ME shenanigan.

[29] No Speculations on the Cause of Natural Disasters being Judgments from God - We are still living in the Age of Grace. God deals with individuals on a personal salvation basis and speculations of natural disasters and the timings of isolated or random natural disasters due to political, economic, or religious actions taken by governments, societies, or individuals does not warrant a direct judgment from God. After the Rapture, God will begin His direct judgments upon the nations.

I have not used my windshield wipers since last November. The newspaper said we (Las Vegas) have received a little over an inch this year but it must to have been during the night. I saw it rain once in June and everyone went to their windows to watch it. It lasted maybe 4 minutes. Sure wish we could have a little of that Texas rain.

Sometimes, things just happen.
You have to simply consider where Texas is located. It is on the Gulf of Mexico on it's Eastern Side and it also gets the dipping fronts moving across the country from West to East. Texas, from what I've been told and have observed has "always" had interesting weather.
That combined with the fact that the geography of the Texas landscape is such that a couple of inches of rain rapidly falling can cause flash flooding in the hill country.
So no, I don't read more into it than just good old Texas weather.

Actually, the flooding isn't as bad as it's been before. About 4 years ago, we had major flooding that trapped me in my house for about a week, so this little bit really is nothing in comparison. Some years are draughts, and some have flooding. It's always been like this.

I find it so funny that I lived in Texas for Nineteen years and we deal with a bunch of droughts (at least where I lived in Wichita Falls) and now that I've moved to Nashville the drought seems to have left and followed me.
