Mysterious bee disappearance linked to virus

The vanishing of millions of bees has alarmed scientists and threatened vital U.S. farming businesses. A new study points to a virus, reports Fortune's David Stipp.

(Fortune) -- Scientists investigating the recent disappearance of U.S. honeybees have linked a little-known virus to the die-off, suggesting that a novel infection capable of wiping out hives has spread widely among America's bees. The researchers also reported circumstantial evidence that the virus may have been introduced to the U.S. via bees imported from Australia.

No...It's the Australian invasion!!!!!

Seriously though, could this be what triggers the world wide famines of the end times?

We cannot survive without bees. Interesting thought.

We were watching a news cast a few days ago where a biologist was trying to spell out to a newscaster exactly what will happen if the bee disappearances continue and she just could not get it.:doh She kept saying "Well we can learn to live without honey." :idunno He asked her if that included food crops and the non human animals that depend on the food crops such as cows etc. She just could not fathom that the 'little bee' disappearing could mean anything other than we would no longer have honey. She just kept brushing him off like he was making a big 'to-do' about nothing.:scratch So many people cannot make the connection, I believe this will play a part in 'world wide' famines because it is a world wide problem right now.

Thanks, John that was such an awesome video and it makes so much sense when presented Biblically.:nod

i saw this mentioned at RF that part about Olives and Grapes not needing bees and found that to be very interesting.

Bees are a big deal. One of the main crops in Maine is our wild blueberries. For the last couple years the harvest has been decidedly effected by the ever increasing lack of bees, same with apples and other 'staple' Maine crops.

Bees are far more than just honey, and they are fascinating creatures
