Here in the Netherlands everybody from 14 years and up is obliged to have an ID card for a couple of years now already. If you come in contact with the police (during a riot or if you break a traffic law e.g.) you must show your card.If you don't have it with you you get a fine. They introduced this law so they can identify people more easily and they can see if a person is searched for for crimes or terrorism. What really got me angry and upset though is when the law just came into action a mother with a little child was held at the police station only because she didn't have an ID card on her, she'd forgotten to bring it with her!The police were going against the law then because they are not allowed to ask for the ID without cause.
I don't know what to think of the ID card being introduced in Ghana,I don't know why they want it. But I enjoyed the choir!
