Commodities markets had a day for the record books Wednesday, as oil and wheat prices surged to all-time highs amid concerns over shrinking stockpiles and strong demand.
A barrel of oil briefly hit $80 for the first time as traders contended with a surprisingly large draw on inventories of crude oil in the U.S., as well as falling stockpiles of gasoline and heating oil. Meanwhile, robust overseas demand and dwindling world supplies of wheat drove prices above $9 a bushel, a new record.

Rev. 6:6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou not hurt the oil and the wine.
