they are advertising this around my town:
http://www.spiritualdiversity.org/
and no surprise that 2 churches including North Side Christian Church of Omaha Nebraska http://www.northsideomaha.org/AboutUs.asp are among the religious groups that are mentioned at
http://spiritualdiversity.org/groups.htm
are sponsoring this considering how lukewarm and pro-apostasy that many Omaha churches have become.
2 Timothy 4:3-4
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

I can spell it and I can spell what Nancy Brink and the Congregation of Northside Christian Church of Omaha Nebraska is fulfilling:
2 Timothy 4:3-4
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

North Side is a progressive
Christian community.
As we seek to live out our vision of being an oasis to the spiritually thirsty, we emphasize six core values:
Courage Creativity Diversity
Joy Love Spirituality
What about things like repentence, righteousness, humility, integrity, hunger for truth?
We take the Bible seriously but not literally. We look at scripture metaphorically. God created us with the ability to reflect and reason.
We do not emphasize Jesus as Savior, but one whose life shows us a path of love. Jesus is our role model. He shows us how to live in openness to the spirit of God in all of life.
If He isn't then who is?
There are many paths that open people to God. Other Christian denominations, Buddhists, Jews, Moslems, Hindus, native peoples, and other traditions are authentic paths of faith. Learning from them enhances our understanding of our own path.
Jesus said He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life
We are not a doctrinal or creedal church.
Doctrine is not dictated by clergy or church hierarchy. We talk together to help enlighten one another.
Stand for nothing, and fall for anything.

Hmm, I dont see anything really Christain about this church. They certainly cant be taking the bible seriously if they do all that other stuff.

blessed I agree with you. I have told people who have brought up this church is basically a Unitarian Church and not a Christian Church.
I wish Nancy Brink and her congregation would call Northside a Unitarian Church because it is insulting IMO considering her church's beliefs, that she would call Northside a "Christian Church"
BTW Northside is associated with the ultra-liberal Disciples of Christ denom.
and is not associated with churches who are part of the
Independent Christian Churches/Independent Churches of Christ denom.
I BTW am a member of a church that is part of the Independent Christian Churches/Independent Churches of Christ denom.
are our churches are pro-apologetics

Far too many churches are becoming Sunday morning social clubs under the guise of meeting to 'worship.

BTW the Omaha World Herald is promoting this event as well :ohno
http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_page=1219&u_sid=10138444
BTW the Omaha World Herald doesnt promote in their "Blessed Events" section aka their Religious Events section on Saturday,
any bible prophecy teachers or christian apologetics teachers or any messianic jewish speakers or messianic jewish singers
when they come to speak or sing at a church in Omaha which shows you the Blessed Events part of the Omaha World Herald is liberal slanted or biased towards some christians.

I found that ironically, that a lot of middle-ground "evangelical" churches in the small towns tend to have fallen the most in the Emergent and PDL nonsense. In the hard-core secular places like Philadelphia, San Francisco, or New York I sense that the churches who are conservative/Bible-believing are probably also the most hardline against the latest apostasies perhaps because they are hardened by what they have seen on the ground from the apostate liberal mainline Protestant denominations. And having seen this, they know apostasy from the Emergent Church movement etc.
